Barbra was Celine's idol growing up, and it was her dream to sing with her, and David Foster, who had arranged and produced both ladies individually throughout there careers, made it happen. The song was written especially for them. It's about a mother and daughter conversation, and since the two ladies are 24 years apart in age, it was a natural. No one's voice can compare with Streisand's imo. And being the consummate professional who doesn't need to prove anything, would never try to out-sing a duet partner. She has three albums alone (out of her 60+, and another coming out soon at the age of 82), of nothing but duets with some of the greatest singers... from Judy Garland to Ariana Grande, and from Frank Sinatra to John Legend, and she complements every single one. She has one of the purest, most enchanting voices ever, and never had any professional training. She's also the only artist ever to chart an album at #1 in six consecutive decades, and she's not done yet. I strongly agree with another poster to react to her duet with Donna Summer on "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)." There's a longer version, around 8 minutes or so that I highly recommend, that, yes, will blow you away. Enjoyed your reaction.

@@sizzlersphinx ….you’re right it appears. I had it in my head that song was recorded much later. It is still impressive to me a 55 year old could blend so well with a 29 year old. When Barbra was 77, she sang Enough is Enough with Ariana Grande. Sadly her voice was strained. But, she still sang better than I ever could. IMO, she is the greatest singer of all time.

Sorry, disagree, I grew up with Streisand as the best of the best, then along came Celine and I struggled inside for a decade with who was the better vocalist and finally had to relent and admit it is Celine. Her improvisation, jazz skills and ability to effortlessly hit certain notes is unmatched, plus she has a soulful passion when required. Her pronunciation of certain English words with a French accent to me is endearing as heck. Don't get me wrong, I love Barbra but Celine edges it for me.
