Grange Hill, Gamesmaster and TOTP were on my evening timetable also before I did my homework. Not mention the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Thankfully in 1996 I was able to add the Simpsons to that list, when the BBC gained the rights to show it and that was a big deal for a lot of kids who didn't have Sky. TV was different back then because a lot of families couldn't afford Sky (or Cable) like they can today which meant terrestrial programming from the five major channels had a lot more variety. This also meant fighting for supremacy over the remote control with you siblings ha ha.

The Bee Gees nailed that performance, the song couldn't be more truer 21 years later. Robin and Maurice gone ( and Andy too, 30 years ago ). Well executed performance nevertheless.

Decent track from the Bee Gees. Considering their big hit days were well behind them.

I think 1997 might have been one the best years for pop in the 90s. In the 7 years since 1990 music technology improved so much to give a sound that seems more aligned with modern music than the music of 1990.

My Favourite year of music is 1989 (Roses, Mondays and all that, plus De La Soul, Pixies early acid house)... But I think the best, since the 60s, is 1997... Great 'Pop' scene with Spice Girls, and crossover Britpop bits and some excellent dance tunes.... But also, don't forget the fantastic albums released in 1997, The Verve, Spiritualised, Radiohead.... And many more.
