man both of these guys are incredible--what i like most about them is you can tell they are smart players--and they watch the court really well. about half of their shots were created just b/c the defense thought they were going to drive or pass. amazing what watching the court can do

Omg these forced comparisons all the time. Only time I compare new players to past ones is when they are similar in all aspects. Like shocking similarities that isn't very common and shouldn't be common. Every true pg is cp3 now and every scoring athletic pg is Westbrook lol. Stop with it already.

I counted 15 points and 10 assists for Newman to 14 points and just 2 assists for Brunson. That's surprising. I expected more points, but to outplay him as the primary playmaker? Newman is evolving.

Jamal Wallace I'd have thought the same, but Newman is starting to show great point guard instincts as well, and based on what we saw in this clip, seemed to have gotten the better of Brunson in that regard. He had far more assists, ran the pick and roll very well, and was always looking at the floor before deciding what his best options were.

Power off the hesitation and the floater arewhat sets Newman apart. When he freezes a guy to honor the shot, his next move is pure power; very explosive. And he needs no room to get that floater off.
