I have a bat with edge tapes and I want to oil the bat so should I leave the part and oil the rest or remove the tape and oil that part

Oil the exposed wood, you do not need to oil over the edge tape.

If I have used my bat for a while but not knocked it in properly how do I get it to its max performance. Will knocking it in make it better with so many Seam Mark's on the bat. Also do these seam Mark's damage the bat ??

Certainly worth revisiting knocking in if you haven't done it properly. Seam marks tend to show up when the bat is soft so the knocking in process should help - they won't damage the bat. You could always add an anti-scuff sheet to further protect the willow.

If I buy grade 1 bat even if I play with tennis ball does it need to be Knocked? Or only using leather ball?

Recently I purchased GM Eclipse 909 SH(5star) for my District round. Does it require Knocking ? Asking because no matter how hard I hit(cautiously) it with a mallet, it shows not a percent of dent over it. Please guide.

Totally incorrect about more grains equates to softer willow. Its the exact opposite. More grains means more dense willow which means more harder, which makes sence as more grains is an older willow not newer. Ive used over 200 bats in my life time and even used international players bats that they actually used in test cricket and ive never had a soft springy ping on a high grained bat eg 16-18+ grains. 8-12 grains gives you best of both worlds. Performance & longevity, and ofcourse how its pressed.

No you do not oil on the scuff sheet - only oil on the exposed wood.

Fibreglass bat tape is used to reinforce the edges and can also be used for minor repairs on the bat. You can find out more about an anti-scuff sheet here - ecs.page.link/xeMNK

Hi, I've got a sizing question. I'm a 5'0 adult, not extremely strong or anything (working on that haha) I'm looking into getting a junior bat, but I'm torn between size 5 and size 6. It's not a very big difference but I'm not a professional and you guys are so I was wondering what your suggestion would be? I'm ordering online because there are no real life stores where I live. Hi Noah, thanks for getting in touch. If we were to go off our height charts, you would be looking at a size 5 bat (4ft 11 - 5ft 2). It is always difficult buying online when you are in between sizes as I'm sure as an adult, you'll be fine handling the weight difference between a size 5 and 6. It is always better to have something slightly smaller than bigger. If you are looking to purchase with us, you can always send the bat back if you feel it is too small / big and we can exchange for a better size.

Ideally, you don't want to change it unless you need to - e.g. it is peeling off. If you are going to take it off, make sure you take it off horizontally rather than vertically as it will pull away the bat fibres. You will need to sand the face down before replacing as the bat face will need to be smooth. We offer a refurb service which many use at the end of the season which includes all of the above 👍

These days they grade bats on looks. I have many 1500doller players bats, yet i have a grade 3 $250 bat that pings better than my players bat.

away from bats.... any explanation as to why the top end pads and gloves dont always come in smaller youth sizes despite not being a teenager but a grown adult? as usual its personal choice what to go for and you may correctly say that one who plays club cricket doesnt need gloves or pads that are for test level but that said player may want to because he has the budget. what gives?

Hi Naveed, great question! Each individual brand will decide on what it chooses to offer as a size run per product item, based largely on manufacturing options/costs and the historical demand. A brand generally will offer their Pro range or a top spec pad/glove in Adult, Small Adult and Youth size options. A Junior, Small Junior et al size option will generally be introduced from the mid-range quality options. The customer demand from retailers, for the highest quality pad and/or glove in any size below Adult is traditionally minimal, and this will be why there isnt many shown as available. However, if we have a customer who wishes to invest in these options - we will look to order in as required/availability allows.

100% your absolutely correct. People who think different are thick. I have many pro bats. Doesn't mean there the best ping. Yes they can be good. But I have a freaky grade 3 bat that outperforms my players' bats. Grading is now based on looks and looks mean bugger all.
