I believe the one you removed that did not have a chrome bead is intended to go with the cars that had the extra stainless trim on the Doors, top rear of fender and the rear hood edge.

Looks great Matt! I have seen some guys damage the outer skin with the wrong screws. Very nerve racking with a painted door. Nice work.

It’s actually a lot easier, sear the rail than the door aligns in place. In most cases the tail can remain separate from the door panel itself. Than again, depends which style and setup you’re installing.
