The Tri Cities consists of Pasco, Kennewick, and Richland. Of the three, I personally like Richland. It's a simple little place - but it seems like the place is well kept, neater and cleaner.

Love your video. Just about to make a move out there. We are currently renters and will be ending our lease end of October. I’m a little nervous about the cold weather but after watching your video, I kinda feel a little more at ease. I’m from Southern California- 20+ years there, Hawaii for a few years, and Seattle/Tacoma area for 11 years. I’m over the grey skies and need a little more sunshine. I still love a Washington though 🌲 I do enjoy sunny and warm weather and also all kinds of water activities. We love exploring and camping and I’m excited to explore the Umatilla forest. We’ve been driving to Tri-Cities a few time a month for the past 6 months kind of looking around and scouting out what we enjoy in life. I didn’t find a diverse eating scene such as in Seattle, which I love but, being that it is growing, maybe one day there will be more kinds of cuisines- Korean bbq, Ethiopian food, Salvadorean food, Poke places etc. ( If you so know any of these types of restaurants, let me know) I’ll also miss the H-Mart but I did find a few Asian stores out there. Considering all of this, I still enjoy myself each time I go down there and always feel at peace. Love being close to water too. I was a beach girl growing up so water is important! I’m excited to be able to put up a pool for the kids in the summer. And my husband and I are the same- we can just get up and go ( which we’re doing now lol) anyways , I loved your video and one day I hope to buy a house at there but for now, just renting- gotta pay down some debt and raise my score a bit. If you know any leads of good rentals, let me know. I only look on Zillow and trulia for now but been noticing a Crown Property management company that have a lot of properties. Thanks again :)

www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-search/Kennewick_WA If you enjoy the Tri-cities in Washington, you may want to investigate the Quad-cities in Arizona too (Prescott, Chino Valley, Prescott Valley, Dewey-Humboldt) along with Flagstaff, AZ before you commit. 6 hours away from LA or San Diego, 4 hours away from Vegas, 2 hours from Phoenix, and 4 hours away from the Grand Canyon by car. And they're always 20 F degrees cooler than the Phoenix metro due to the higher elevations of 5,000ft and 7,000ft in Flagstaff.

Hi Vanessa! Thanks for watching! As far as the eating scene goes, it actually is pretty diverse! The one (big) thing I would say we are lacking is fine dining. There are a few Korean places ( I like Gangnam Style BBQ). I don’t think we have Ethiopian or Salvadorian food at the moment. But we have Filipino, Indian, Mexican (several regions/styles represented), Indian, Middle-Eastern, Mongolian, Cuban, and more. And then the American and fusion restaurants around town are great too (too many to name), and you can even Google “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives (Richland, Kennewick, or Pasco)” and check out some of the places featured on the show. As far as Poke goes, I don’t think we have a poke-specific place, but you can check out Proof or Koko’s Bartini (maybe check if they have it during the pandemic). For rentals, Crown is a good resource. You could also check out Zillow of course. Some other property management companies include Everstar, Kenmore Property Management, SVN, among others. Rental homes tend to get snatched pretty quick these days, and I have some connections as well, so when you are getting close to moving if you want me to put out some feelers, I can try too. Please let me know if you have any other questions - you can shoot me a text or give me a call. 509-551-1449 - Glen

Nice video thank you for sharing. Planning to check out tricities. Will relocate from South Korea with my wife. Is there a Korean and Filipino community. How about Korean restaurants or Filipino. My wife is half Korean half Filipina. Let me know if anyone knows about your Asian diversity if any. Thank you again for sharing.

Hi Jon. There are some Filipino and Korean Restaurants. Dagupan Grill, Gangnam Style BBQ, and Seoul Fusion are a few. I do not know of any specific data on Asian diversity. There are some Korean churches in the Tri Cities, and I know some Korean and Filipino families, but I do not know any specific demographics other than what is on the census website - censusreporter.org/profiles/31000US28420-kennewick-richland-wa-metro-area/

Thanks for the Video.... From Portland and went to college at UW in Seattle. Live in East Bay Ca. But too expensive. There is a job in Tri Cities I am interested in. NW cities have become to weird and it is too rainy for me now in my life. Interesting you were in Golf end and I am in Tennis. Concern that the area is a bit barron which could lead toward depression. Not to be negative but what would you say are things you would not like and who the area may not be right for. Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the questions! I think the biggest thing I hear from people wanting to move from Tri Cities, is they want some aspects of big city life that Tri Cities doesn’t quite have. A major college campus (along with college sports); a major sports team; a thriving music scene; theatre, etc. I’m not saying those things don’t exist at all - There’s a WSU campus, minor league hockey and baseball, bars that host local bands & venues that can host nationally recognized acts, but not the most current popular musicians. (for example: KISS and Snoop Dogg have been through town - Taylor Swift and Post Malone haven’t). As far as the land being barren and depressing - I suppose that could be true for some people. I don’t think it’s that bad. It’s far from some of the forested areas of the West side of the state (or coastal towns of California, Oregon, and WA) for scenery. But the rivers and surrounding areas have greenery and trees. There’s rolling hills with vineyards. We get Fall colors in Fall. Flowers and trees bloom in Spring. Summer is green around the rivers. Summer and Spring are good for gardening. Not going to lie, there can be times in winter where things are dry, cool, windy (hello tumbleweeds), and overcast, and not the prettiest. When it’s mid-December, with no snow on the ground, and short days, it can feel dreary. But I’ll take that over the constant grey of Seattle winters. If you have any other questions, let me know...

It is also a desert, so most of the landscape does tend to get dry and brown in summer, but in town, where there's irrigation it stays green. As well as along the river and marshes

Great video Glen. What is the bike lane scene in the Tris? Are there dedicated lanes on the roads?
@GlenGosch
@GlenGosch 3 жыл бұрын
Some roads yes, others no on bike lanes. I have some friends that are in cycling clubs, so I know there are some decent routes in the area, but to be honest I haven't researched much about it myself.

Thank you for the informative video. I'm planning on moving out of California in the next year and Kennewick sounds nice. I was not able to find property with acreage and no neighbors too close. I did look at Zillow and looks like its a busy area. I am also wondering if there are jobs there. Thank you in advance
@GlenGosch
@GlenGosch 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Diana, as far as being busy - I guess it's relative and subjective. I don't think it's too busy, but it's not exactly rural and/or super slow paced either. For jobs, TRIDEC is a good resource to keep up on the local economy. I can't say we have been completely unscathed by COVID-19 with unemployment, but I still see places hiring. Properties with acreage - Most properties in the City limits will be around an acre or less, but there are some exceptions. The 5 acre and larger parcels tend to be on the outside of the city limits, or in Benton City, Prosser, Burbank, and other small towns in the area. And there are some properties with Kennewick or Pasco addresses that are actually outside of city boundaries where you can find larger parcels. Hope this helps.

Hi Diana, I just wanted to chime in. I would look into the other cities (Richland, Pasco, and West Richland) to find some houses with acreage. It's not a busy area at all. With a combined population of about 285,000, it has everything you need but without the craziness of a major city. As far as jobs, there are plenty depending on what industry you are looking into. Plenty of jobs for advanced degrees as well with lots of research and development being done in the tri cities. The economy is very strong here and just a great place to live.

Would this place be good for someone that's in there early 20s I love outdoor activities but I hear it's kinda boring there
@GlenGosch
@GlenGosch 3 жыл бұрын
I suppose it depends on what you are into. As far as outdoor activities: Hiking, mountain biking, cycling, fishing, endurance sports (biathlon, triathlon, marathon, etc), water sports (kayaking, paddle boarding, etc), boating/watercraft, golf, and more are all available in the immediate area (a 2-minute to 15-minute drive away for most people). I guess a few things we lack in the immediate area are super scenic and/or adventurist trails for hiking or mountain biking (about 2 hours away), beaches (4+ hours away), decent camping (i.e forested areas; about 2 hours away), and snow sport areas (about 2 hours away). If you have questions about some particular outdoor activities, let me know and I'll do my best to answer.

Which is the cheapest of the Tri-Cities to live in?
@GlenGosch
@GlenGosch 2 жыл бұрын
Generally speaking, average prices from lowest to highest: Pasco, Kennewick, Richland, West Richland. That said, there are parts of Pasco with higher prices than any of the other cities, so it really depends on the neighborhood. If you have any other questions, please reach out here or via phone at 509-551-1449.
