All good points. I do love the lack of seasonality here in SF. It never gets too cold or too hot.

Live there for 2 years, hated it, moved back to New York and never looked back.

I love NYC- it's very different than SF. Pros and cons to both in my option and I think it just depends on what's important to you. NYC is a real city. SF is a small town in comparison. The food and nightlife scene in NY is also unmatchable. However if you want nature or calm mixed with a little action then SF is a good choice for some.

I live in DONOSTIA EUSKADI but I'm a constant explorer of SAN FRANCISCO❤. We've lived all over SF and the Outer Outer Sunset & Richmond 🌊 ⛱️ are our favorite with our favorite restaurants. FOR FOOD, Somewhere on Haight 😋

Great points, almost all are consistent with other major cities. My biggest complaint is the weather, but this July has been the sunniest one yet. Maybe it'll stays like this :)

Nice video. I would add having kids, because once you do you will most likely move for better public schools. A 13 year SF resident I left when I had my first child.

You're, right many people do chose to to leave after having kids, but the city is also fun for kids. My kids are enjoying growing up here. Of course it's all they know:)

@@livinginsanfranciscoca 100% AGREE SF is a GREAT place to grow up. I was torn leaving but I am from NYC and wanted my daughter to be near relatives.

@@gonzoteacher@gonzoteacher Being near family is really nice and can definitely help increase the quality of life! I'm lucky to have my sister live next door, but I miss my mom and other sisters. I wish we could have them in our daily lives. I LOVE NYC! Hope to spend more time there when my kids grow up!

Similar to most major cities, there is traffic, crime, etc but SF still remains a BEAUTIFUL city

Sales tax in Santa Cruz as of July 1st, 2024 is 9.75%. It’s ridiculous!

Lived here all my life and prefer the cooler weather - grew up in the outer sunset and lived in Potrero Hill dog patch for 5yrs and had the blinds shut most of the time due to the sunshine. Husband asked if I was a vampire- Lol. Neighborhood was fun but too warm for me - moved out and back to the cooler weather. City overall, offers so much for all types of preferences for such a tiny city - love it and will never leave! We are so deep rooted here with family and friends. 💕🐶

Thanks for sharing your experience! It's always fun to hear from people who have lived in the city for a long time!

Anyone who actually regrets moving to a place such as San Francisco can tell you a lot about what type of person he/she is. San Francisco is a repellent for shitty people and it makes me grateful I live here, I dont want those type of people in my city.

I've lived in San Francisco my whole life. I've never owned a snow shovel or an air conditioner.

Grew up in the Bay. SF has ALWAYS been a dangerous city. I have been all over the world, but keep my head on a swivel when I'm back home.

Yup. I lived there for 3 years and faced more crime there than any other part of the country. I've also worked in some high crime areas of the ATL and never had any problems.

Why would people be leaving? With rampant crime, drug use, homelessness, high costs, an inept government, what's not to like?
