Completely different rules, play structure, and setup. No NFL players could step in and be amazing in Rugby. Just as no Rugby player could strap on pads and helmet and be amazing.

This is not exclusively true. Australia plays 4 football codes professionally. Rugby Union and League, Soccer and Australian football. The dominant code depends on where you live. For instance if you went to Victoria and started talking about footy (meaning rugby) they'd assume you were talking about Australian football. States such as Qld and NSW refer to Rugby as footy on occasions. More so rugby league. Rugby Union is generally referred to simply as Rugby in Australia.
