@lojo.fishing I've never used a Lew's before until I started watching your videos. One day I happened to shopping at your favorite store, Wal-Mart, lol. I saw an $89 Lew's combo, the Xfinity Speedstick. I said to myself, "Self. Let's try this combo out". So I bought it and immediately spooled it in the parking lot and took it to Pickwick Lake. Now, I've always fished Abu Garcia rods and reels. My impression of this highly affordable combo is fire. It exceeded my expectations and personally, I might just keep buying Lew's. Just my 2¢.

Nice preview! Shoot, that rod might as well be your signature rod with the name "Smash". Also, love the fact that you sport sun protection. I know you had a video on it a while back, but the fact that you still don gloves and long sleeves shows your audience that its the smart thing to do. Seen too many folks out on the water shirtless or wearing thin tank tops only to come back to the boat ramp looking like boiled lobsters.

I've picked these up and messed them several times at academy. Lew's has brought back the combo setups for great prices and now just like their reels, other companies are trying but don't compare. But that said im not that I'm impressed with the reel and definitely the rod on this Smash. Its $130 for a IM6 graphite blank which IMO is confusing. The Lazer TXS combo $120 feels half the weight, has nice winn grips on rod and reel, dual brakes and ive used my buddies. Its like Lews went backwards but I would for just $20 more pick up one the Hack Attack combos which Hackney and Lews nailed it. Way more different sizes and variations too

Got mine. As a first bait caster for me. I wasn’t going to go cheap. I knew cheap equals frustration. I think I bought an excellent product. And bonus , super easy to figure out. The brakes are super easy and fun to adjust. Two feet shorter or longer with one click.

Those baitfish were fry(baby bass) and the bass was guarding them. So whem you dragged that worm through them the bass went into deffense mode
