For the DODX car on 309 it could have originated in either Binghamton or Hornell that general area is near the Finger Lakes, the Navy has testing facilities in that area so it could have been navy related. Great catch on the dpu alright! Great video WWOT!

@@mshum538 Thank you for the comment on my detailed descriptions of WWoT's videos. I have stopped writing those detailed descriptions of where WWoT is when he is catching trains to show us. There were times when it took me 45 minutes or more to watch the video and write the comments and then type the comments. Then I also go behind in watching WWoT's videos because of other commitments that I have. For the last couple of months, I have just been writing short comments and thanking him for what he is doing. I have done some Google research at times to add information about something in a video that caught my eye that I wanted more information about the subject. From the looks of all those trucks under the DOD car, it appears to be some kind of heavy-duty container, possibly spent nuclear waste, etc. Beautiful day(s) for CSX, but not for NS, dreary like it is here today. Nice to see no fire-breathing turbos, broken knuckles, or air lines for a change!

@keith moore ive seen a video of that very exact thing on BNSF in California, super-huge car, had caboose, and hi-rail escort vehicles front & rear. Moving about 5 mph, had at least 3 engines. That military load was a decomissioned nuclear missile warhead. I've heard of the military transporting such things by rail, obviously they don't tell people what exactly that load is.
@deanstrand42603 жыл бұрын
That's downright scary. Decommissioned nuclear missle warhead, being transported by rail. Not telling anybody about it, not even the railroad employees, who could be severely injured or killed if anything set off the warhead??
@blackw0lf9933 жыл бұрын
It’s empty guys (the warhead not the casing) part of decommissioning is removing the rods and explosives. In this state it is harmless. If it had contained rods or even explosives inert or not it would be treated as a hazardous load thus the railroad would have had to put spacer cars between it and the engine to prevent it from being to close to an engine that could catch fire and burn. Thus burning that car or it’s contents. just because it’s a DODX car don’t exempt it from DOT regs. Also if it had been live there would have been more security IE someone in last engine of the set and usually a caboose behind the container. With all that says it’s still cool it’s a rare car to see on the train and unusual!
@StarTard83 жыл бұрын
The load is inert and there are no real warheads in that missile head.

@ljones1213 жыл бұрын
It could also be related to a new submarine, the navy has testing facilities in the finger lakes
@billmorris26133 жыл бұрын
If it was a steam generator it would have some type of an exhaust stack. I have seen many steam generators and they have all had an exhaust stack of some kind. It is on a DODX car with a load limit of 600,000 lbs and an empty weight of 178,000, so it is a piece of military equipment.

That's definitely not a warhead; there's no way such a thing could be delivered, by bomber or missile, if it was so heavy it required a twelve-axle flatcar to haul around. Likely a naval reactor vessel or steam generator for same. I've seen a few trains that were clearly military equipment. One of them was about a dozen boxcars with a caboose, all DODX, hauled by a single NS Geep heading west on the Burlington from Chicago. Another was a rather long train of 20-foot containers on flatcars heading west of Chicago on the CNW to Omaha, all placarded Explosives 1.6
@dboatube3 жыл бұрын
With no 'buffer car' between the power and IT, it is most likely nothing dangerous. the cover tarp should have been strapped on better. from the looks of the outer covering of the 'tank', that might be insulation, it might be a giant flask of hot coffee on it way to the front lines somewhere. the CRYO Trans cars further along have the cream. not sure where the sugar is. ha ha
