I'm attempting to become something known as a VTuber, but a lot of them require singing capabilities. I've shown my friends my singing attempts, and one of them stated that it was so bad they were reeling from pain in the chaos and voice cracks. I've decided to try and improve myself, but it really dampens my mood when people, even my friends, tell me my voice is so horrible they'd rather I just talk through the lyrics. These videos have been helping me get through the despair I felt. Thank you for that.

Hi! Is this tongue-rolling exercise the same concept as humming through a straw? Confining the air channel? Or is this adding something else with the shaping of the mouth as well?

For the nasal issue, open your mouth wide af because otherwise, if you block your mouth, it will come out from your nose 😂

I’m nasally too! Opening my mouth wider doesn’t seem to help for me. I speak nasally too, it sucks.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with your soft palate, I think you need to raise your soft palette more and then you'll be able to sing mainly from your mouth.

I'm In - I'm 63, actively Gig. Started seriously studying my voice this year ( I play kick & snare with feet, guitar, banjo, mando with hands and sing in a duo) - looking to improve the quality of my voice. Playing covers now - and find it's hard than playing originals as I have to try to emulate a variety of voices. Any tips on how to do that ( aside from choosing material that fits my vocal range?
