For me, Leonardo da Vinci is the most brilliant person who has ever lived. He was out of contest. Another amazing mind was Archimedes. Then Newton, Einstein, Descartes. Those would be candidates for my top five. I would have liked to include Socrates, but he's into another category, not intelligence but wisdom. And there are people in other categories: Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Michelangelo. Not intelligence, not wisdom, but something else, magic, high level quality and quantity of creative work.
@franklombardisr77743 жыл бұрын
How about Tesler.
@joekake5863 жыл бұрын
I would concur with Leonardo a brilliant person. I think an important aspect of Leo is his depth. He was highly proficient doing maths, physics, engineering, and many more other areas of excellence. I guess he had many pieces of many puzzles. This gave him an advantage, a man of many trades. Humans will eventually reach a state intelligence, where all life is considered precious. We don't need to kill to eat, as everything that is born, eventually dies. We want to eat a blue whale, that's fine. We can track them, once they die then we eat them. The same with livestock and animals. We don't worry about the shade of our skins, it is but the light that is reflected back. We all the same colour, when it's dark or no light to reflect. We can use renewable energy, not old corpses from the past, fossil fuels. We don't need money as we know that our food producing (brain team) will be so efficient that there is enough for all including all the animals. There be no wars, for what, food and shelter for all to be provided. Crime will be obsolete, for what purpose. We have the ability to go to other worlds so over crowding can be eleviated. Actually we can live in space, i.e. huge space cities, solar energy 24 7.
@angelacarleton95753 жыл бұрын
I agree about Leonardo da Vinci what pisses me off they keep bringing up his sex life which is no ones' business despite people's stupid remarks this man was genius and his calculations about flying and the figuring about the body theme and dimensional measures. Einstein acknowledging Tesla above himself tells us how intelligent Tesla was. Einstein is also humble and may have been correct in his analysis of intelligence. His theories around relatively are incredible. When I found out Einstein theorised that time is not constant or the same e.g. someone travelling time is different to someone not travelling. Even someone flying in an aircraft, the time is fractionally out of since to someone that is stationary. The time frames are more significant the closer one gets to the speed of light.

His advantage is his photographic memory. So there are genius all around us.

@@echidona293 iq test are realy a horrible measure of intelligence in general. they are like measuring intelligence by chess skill. ur preformance will be completly random within a range depending on ur acual intelligens. btw almost anyone could master calculus at that age. alot of ppl can seem very dumb but their concentration is just pretty hard to control. also how well you understand things is very diffrent for everyone and intelligens is not that big of a factor in that. when you understand things you are comming up with the thing you are getting told but with some hints witch realy is intelligense you might think but how much you take in is a huge factor in it bc the more you take in the more hints you get. i just got in to a chess club and won against a guy who have played for about 20 years he said and i have only played for 3 months. i didin't beat him bc i thought faster then him i just where able to understand the positions much better then him. you could just call me a genius but that would make creativity not such a big factor in intelligense. creativity is how well you connect things. i observe much more then most people so i can connect more things but saying that its creativity would make the word itself meaningless. im not saying there is any sort of an error in ur logic im just giving you my evaluation of importance in this subject and wonder if you agree and didin't think of it or you don't.

Sir. Isaac. Newton. As far as we can understand through the recorded history, easily goat. I mean Newtonian physics itself is both real and quantized. It doesn't get superceded by quantum physics it exists and is even crucial, but gets translated. It is also a key element of human philosophy. Once you see this link it can't be unseen. It takes effort to overcome something in life, and you won't be making instant change, but applied effort over time leads to significant change, yet there is a point where change reaches a universal constant where beyond all to he efforts and every resource can't do it. Like bringing a mass to c. And because he understood he was the only person that got it, he created a way to universally communicate what he knew in mathematics that prior to him, no human knew, much less enough to write books. Imagine newton with access to all that we know today. Einstein was merely first. Relativity was not out of reach by many I'm his era. I don't like that this list as it biases against philosophy. Newton may or may not have been inspired as the story goes, but Einstein says all is quantized, but focuses against this idea when considering gravity. Would have newton? Newton began with gravity. Sure he wasn't around when we began to understand more of the nature of fundamental laws, technology plays a part, but he began with the thing that has perplexed all others. Right now we don't know the answer to if mass is responsible for gravity or if gravity is responsible for mass. I'd imagine Newton pointing out whatever obvious thing we are overlooking. Then because the idea is fresh, having to write books to hook what he knew into what is established, only so to hat he could have a conversation with more than himself.

This is a rough, imperfect analogy: What we call IQ is like an engine, raw power. If an engine that runs a bulldozer were to end up in a Honda Civic, it would never reach its full potential. More is needed than just a high IQ to achieve greatness. Drive, imagination, practical spatial awareness (AKA, common sense), focus among other things need to be in the mix, but the most important is the ability to develop abstract thinking. 99.99999% of all people are unoriginal, in that every thought they have is connected to something they learned from someone else. Nothing wrong with that, a lot can be done in that format. Then someone comes along who has an original abstract thought that no one else has come up with, ever! That is true genius.

@@PolkiSaMalutkie Carlsen actually has an iq of about 180. Chess is not merely a memory game. It's about looking ahead, 10,15, 20+ moves ahead while on a time crunch. In a blitz game, you need to have the state of mind to be able to calm yourself and pick- not the best move, but to pick the best move the situation will allow. In classical, you need to prepare for anything. Knowing the openings gets you into the game. Studying the endgames, allows less blundering. But memory alone does not make a great player. Attacking geniuses like Tal, who oftentimes sacrifice a piece for a position must look at least 15 moves ahead, since most of his opponents would take his sacrifice and an idea alone is not worth a queen. Defensive giants like Petrosian had to know the opponent well enough to shut down any open lines. Fantastic video, although the grammar and spelling was just a bit distracting at times. One notable mention you left out was Archimedes. I believe it is speculated his IQ was quite close to Einstein's. His work on buoyancy, fluid dynamics, mechanical engineering, etc, paved the way for many great scientists to explore the complexities of the world. He was also the first man to define Pi to three decimals with polygons, which was the standard until Newton used Pascal's Triangle to create a Theorem. Archimedes - "Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world."

When I was in High School, our Math teacher at the time, gave us the task of adding up the numbers 1 thru 100. I analyzed the problem for a minute or so, and wrote down 5050 on my piece of paper. Our Math teacher came over to my desk, and shook his head "yes", and everyone else had this dumbfounded look on their faces, or remarked, how did you come up with that so quickly. Well, ... after he gave the rest of the class a few more minutes to add up the numbers, he finally had me go up in front of the class, and explain how I came to the conclusion that I did, ... realizing I could pair up numbers, such as 1 and 100, then 2 and 99, etc., ... and that there were 50 pairs of such, ... so I simply multiplied 101 x 50, and came up with my 5050 figure. Now, what is "interesting", is I had never heard of Gauss before, or his equation, ... or the story of his math teacher giving the problem to his students, to keep them "busy", as he figured they'd be at it for some time. And he was so surprised when Gauss came up with the answer so quickly, ... thinking he had "cheated" somehow. But my Math teacher knew of my abilities, and probably wasn't a bit surprised when I came up with the answer so quickly. When I got to college though, there were tons of very gifted people, ... many with varied gifts, that weren't just mathematical, ... and sometimes felt awed by those around me. But Math was my strong point, as well as architectural visualization, ... but I ended up in the IT realm, career wise.

Haha, I had the exact same experience, but in a college math course (discrete math). I was super proud of myself for figuring it out in a few seconds. Then the professor said Gauss figured it out at the age of 6, and sucked the wind right out of my sails. It was a beautiful lifelong lesson in the need for humility.

Sounds like you're pretty smart, but I think it would be more correct to nod for the affirmative, (that's up and down). Shaking is generally used to describe a side to side motion of the head which indicates the negative. Not always, some cultures express these in the opposite fashion. If you think about an infant refusing a distasteful food, they shake their head from side to side. And the word for an up and down head motion is nodding. But perhaps you are Bulgarian, Greek, Iranian, Lebanese, Turkish or Egyptian, if so, I stand corrected. Obviously I came from a small town where it didn't take a whole lot to be the smartest kid in the clase. Kudos for your math skills.
