The CBR600 is an excellent intro to sport bikes. It is light weight, excellent handling at all speeds, and goes fast enough. Weaknesses include low end torque, brakes aren't well distributed, and the mirrors don't provide good visibility. The mileage is ~40 mpg.

@Iffy505 жыл бұрын
That is correct. I had a 600F3 new in 1996. I hit top speed almost every time I took it out (~165 MPH), but I lived somewhere that had roads with almost no cars so I didn't have to hope someone didn't switch lanes. Mine was 100% stock. I just bought a 2017 600RR last summer, it has just a bit more HP. I haven't topped it out unfortunately... too many cars where I live now. The speeedometer on my F3 read high, so I was probably ~160 MPH.

2:07 nice try dude... there are no more gears for you... Get a CBR 1100 next time he he HE !!! Nice video!
@alialhakeem93084 жыл бұрын
i did that before too, it's not about shifting to another gear, we clutch the bike at top speed to burst more speed, if you watch carefully the rpm, you will find that it has a little gap to reach red line, and that's why we clutch. #motorcycle-secrets
@WASTED__POTENTIAL4 жыл бұрын
@@alialhakeem9308 Ali Alhakeem neat theory, but total crap. Cutting power to the wheel isn't going to boost your speed. Even if you FEEL a little kick from the momentum of the engine getting sent to the wheel after the clutch dump, you've already lost more speed from the extreme drag during the lull in power than you would ever gain from that tiny bump. You can see in the video that he dropped about 3 kph when he did that.
@alialhakeem93084 жыл бұрын
@@WASTED__POTENTIAL for brand new engine yes i agree, you don't need to do it, but for old bikes with 25k+ miles they need a little push to reach red line, not all of them tho, but i wonder why then a pro racer would shift clutchless with throttle on? it's obvious cutting throttle means 0 hp, keeping it at high rpm means you get to next gear with a 100hp+ in your pocket ready to push, you don't need to work your way up again, and that's what we do, keep throttle with little clutch will raise rpm, cutting power to the wheel is not a big deal if i'm making power to the engine and if i lose 3 kph for extreme drag and gain 0.5hp stil sound good to me. peace
@WASTED__POTENTIAL4 жыл бұрын
@@alialhakeem9308 racers shift without using the clutch because using the clutch cuts power to the wheel which slows the bike down. You do not gain anything from bouncing off the rev limiter with the clutch disengaged at top speed. The same principle applies to what the Fast and Furious wannabes call "double clutching." They think the little bump from dropping the clutch twice between shifts makes the car go faster, but it in reality, actual racers know that cutting power to the wheels makes it slower unless the engine is bogging down hard. It is only in severely underpowered cases that a clutch dump at high rpms MIGHT help. I'm talking about some clapped out beater that has trouble moving itself. The bike in this video is a loooooong way from that point. My bike can hit 160mph almost effortlessly without any teenybopper tricks you may have heard about in a "racing" movie or from some wannabe.
@alialhakeem93084 жыл бұрын
@@WASTED__POTENTIAL i was thinking about it after you made a comment, watched the video twice, i care for truth, and you right, i heard about it and did it back then in my country when i was 14 years old doing 170kmh in my 89 Honda Spada vt250 hoping to reach 180, to be honest i didn't know bouncing rev limiter with clutch disengages even for less than sec would make no power, thanks for clearing that for me, when i thought about it it's not just drag issue, it's sprocket and gear ratio too and you have to work your way up again, and as you said i have an 04 gsxr 600 with yoshimura and it goes to 160 effortlessly. ride safe

about 164 mph by the clock , i guess about 150 in real gps speed , these clocks are a mile out. maybe 155 mph

Is the restrictor still on? I'm sure the bike could have pushed more than 165mph?
