The CBR600 is an excellent intro to sport bikes. It is light weight, excellent handling at all speeds, and goes fast enough. Weaknesses include low end torque, brakes aren't well distributed, and the mirrors don't provide good visibility. The mileage is ~40 mpg.

Hondas of all kinds are very user-friendly and very well made with great re-sale value (a feature for a beginner, because you will change bikes until you find what suits you best), but I would not recommend a super-sport bike for your first one. A 600 or 650F is a lot easier and more forgiving to ride. You WILL make mistakes, and super-sporters are not that forgiving of errors; they are not designed for beginners. Ride safe my friend.... :-)
@luvhcchris10 жыл бұрын
KathrynLiz1 (im assuming nr1from already got a bike since this original post was from 3 months ago) agreed. the 600RR might be a bit too much for new riders but I say of the 4 japanese supersports, the cbr is the most beginner friendly. New riders might be intimidated by how much power the bike has, but I found out that the cbr600rr in particular was very easy to adjust to. (although i didnt take it past 8k rpm for probably the first week i had it,) i noticed that i was able to figure out just how much throttle i had to give to stay under 8k rpm and i was never really 'afraid' of the bike. all in all, if youre in doubt a lower displacement is recommended and will can never go wrong. but if you know that youve got self control(which im not trying to be cocky but i would say i did a very good job at it lol) a super sport isnt a bad first choice either.

@FlameHazeist5 жыл бұрын
@@patternview For the most part he upshifted correctly. But at some points he didn't fully release the throttle, which is seen as a blip in the throttle which will lead to higher clutch wear (it is a shifting technique that is known as power shifting). I don't know how prevalent clutch wear is in bikes' wet clutches, but doing that in cars' dry clutches will lead to a very early clutch replacement.

I just bought a 2017 600RR last summer, it has just a bit more HP. I haven't topped it out unfortunately... too many cars where I live now.
