Top Speed w/ WR125X @ 6th gear

Checking the top speed of my WR.
OBS: This is a Swedish channel, I will sometimes do english videos that are targeted towards WR125X/R owners instead of my audience.

This is stock gearing. Power Commander 5 K&N filter Full Arrow exhaust It was very windy that day, so the wind 100% helped. I would maybe only reach 110kmh without the wind in my back!

I was gonna ask did you upgrade your carbu but the wr has fuel injection :) If you want to add some performance I recommend: countershaft elimination & an iridium spark plug (very cheap). You can also put a 180cc kit on it offcourse if you want a big improve in performance but that will cost a lot more..

@@comedy467 I had not heard about it before as well, here is the explanation: " bikes suffer of unusual slowness in taking turns. This problem is noticeable, on the part of a careful ear, even when the motorcycle is stationary: it is enough to give gas and one realizes that the 4T engine gains revs slowly due to the high flywheel effect of the crankshaft. The reason for this effect is essentially due to some design choices aimed at maximum driving comfort: a concept absolutely in contrast with the pure performance. The 4T engine is in fact equipped, as standard, with a countershaft with a weight of 900gr to which must be added the almost 400gr of the gears: a considerable weight that the crankshaft must drag in any condition of use. The pair of gears that controls the countershaft also has the aggravation of frictionally dispersing a significant part of the engine power."

Did u have to wire up the clutch again when u set up those clutch and brake levers? Some people have told me that i need to do that if i buy new levers? And how much better is it with full exhaust system than only the silencer? The full system is hella expensive:D

I think they have dropped in price but when I bought it I payed €350 for the silencer and €110 for the front pipe. What do you mean by wire up? Just disconnect the clutch cable from the old levers and attach to the new. You might need to tighten it/loosen it but that takes like 3 seconds.

I own a yamaha wr125x and is completly standard and also has a reconditioned engine thats only done 1500 miles but it still only goes 63 miles an hour max?? Is this because my engine or something else? Thanks for any help/advice.

The best thing to do is to ask a Yamaha dealer or go to a specialist workshop. Maybe it is the speedometer and not the motor, or are you sure that it is something strange because of the motor?

Topspeed is not important on a supermoto, you don't drive it on highways anyway, cuz if you do you catch lots of wind and will be very uncomfortable, besides, if you really want you can get an 125cc 4t even to get that speed too, or a 80cc 2stroke...

And no.. you cant get any 125cc 4 stroke to 160kmh.. and i also own an 80cc 2 smoke and it deffinatly doesnt do 160kmh either .. the wr can reach up to 198kmh with supermoto gearing, and if there was a 6spd gearbox it might go past that aswell (im pretty sure it does.. since you can easyily hit the rev limiter in 5th... You sound like a straight up internet rider.. watched a bunch of viedos and now thinks hes got all ze knowlege

@@HochstartHarry If topspeed is important then you don't have to buy a supermoto, they aren't made for that. And yes you can get a 125cc to 160km/h if you want, and you won't have the fastest 80cc don't worry ;-)

I've just bought one of these with a malossi 182 kit, a dynoget power commander 5, and upgraded filters. Got it for £1750 the plastics are rough but for that money I can't complain. I got supermoto and spare nobbly tyres on rims with it too. I had a Dtr 170 athena before this and crashed it into 2 halfs😂hopefully this one is as good. A mate clocked my 1988 Dtr at 102mph it didn't take long to get there being cruel. Anyone think the WR will be as good with the bits it has on it I can't ride it yet I gotta sort some insurance out
