JP Yeah, easy can be awesome, for whom the bell tolls by Metallica is easy on all instruments, but it hits hard and sounds awesome. But shit like the white stripes is just straight repeating the same riff over and over for an entire song.

White Stripes have their merit too. I mean, probably is the same, but think how the guitar sounds even with the same riff over and over. You can go easy on performing, but it doesn't mean you add some good detail on there :)

I have absolutely no clue what the first song I learned to play on the drums was -- my drum teacher just put on a random song and taught me how to play it. The first song I self taught (...so the first song I learned...) was "The Sea is a Good Place to Think of The Future" by Los Campesinos! Acoustic guitar was "Stand By Me" and electric guitar was "Wish You Were Here" (two different teachers)
