Nothing more than a shallow bond that will eventually break" Waaaaay too dramatic. A dark character isn't necessarily that, they have shitty life all right, but still down to earth. But I do agree with you to a certain extent.

That is true. As mentioned, he doesn't like confrontation and will not bother anyone who doesn't bother him first. However, when he's in a fight, he'll go all out, likely as a side effect from his Orochi blood. Perhaps violent wasn't the best word to use there, but he is brutal when he fights.

Note: Even though Iori is blunt, serious, and rude, he's a good man who hates violence, plays a bass guitar in a band, and loves cats. Also, he isn't evil. The edge is strong with this list. I'd like to bring up a few characters that you don't need to believe but I feel Guile from SF is one of the edgiest and most american character I've seen. So he's been kicking ass since the '90s saying go home and be a family man and constantly ignoring his family in the sake of "justice" and "revenge". The thing is Akuma might want to assert his dominace with the ability to make the background T-Pose (yes I know what it really is) but in the end he just wanna fight. Akuma may say he wanna kill but does he shirk his responsibility (other than to his children) for this "power" and tell people to live a non warrior life? I swear it'll like Hey ya all over again lol. Guile is so edgy he combs his hair or put on shades showing the disrespect. One more person to add to the list Seto Kaiba because of Jump Force...he crushed an container and fired a guy for making the container too weak. Think about popping a balloon and being mad because you could.
