lnsflare1 the first the better ... 2 has more features, but was very generic and strange story .. 2 not was a bad game

lnsflare1 part one has its charms because of the way you can exploit enemies. Like just slowly jabbing them to death, continuously using knees on bosses, and player 2 holding the enemies while you punch them. Part 3 was the worst because the music was horrible , the sprites went back to being small. The punch/kick sound effects were lame and most importantly the shitty localization which sensored everything and spiked up the difficulty. Play the japanese bare knuckle 3 instead.

Adventure of Batman & Robin, Castlevania Bloodlines, Contra Hard Corps, Comix Zone, Crusader of Centy, Elemental Master, Lightening Force, Pocahontas, Pulseman, Shadowrun, Shining Force 2, Steel Empire, Vectorman 1 & 2, The Punisher, and X-Men 2: Clone Wars. Those could be easily in that list.

I noticed you play music that doesn't belong with some of the games...a odd choice, not a bad one though. Also, Streets of Rage 2 objectively massacred the first game, deserved the attention more so I think, (SOR1 could have been passively mentioned as the one that started it all though). You have 100% credit for mentioning Alien Soldier, not surprising as your accent gives it away, we stupidly didn't receive that incredible classic in the U.S. (because Sega...). Other titles for anyone reading that are worth playing. Shinobi series, Thunder Force III & IV, Musha, Fire Shark, Steel Empire (shmups could go on there are many good ones but these are the best imo...) Beyond Oasis, Super Hang-on, Shining Force series, Castlevania Bloodlines, C Hard Corps, Rocket Knight Adventures, Ristar, Monster World IV, Comix Zone, Rolling Thunder Series, Alisia Dragoon, Dynamite Headdy, Yuu Hakusho: Makyou Toitsusen (JP)

So many great games that could make this list Hellfire, Thunderforce 3 & 4, Tatsujin, The Super Shinobi to name a few. You could do a whole show on shooters alone as there are some many great titles for the system. Treasure also proved that in the right hands that the Megadrive could produce games just as good as those found on the Super Famicom. Another great view demo by the way. Have you done a Saturn episode?

Just as good? No I would say better. The Gen was a console more suited for action arcade games, Alien Soldier, Gunstar Heroes, SOR2 + a few others prove this, no way those titles would run well on Snes. And AS is easily the a Top 3 game from the 90's. They were both amazing systems, but sporting different strengths for sure.

A great list. You've included many of my favourites. My own list would replace Streets of Rage, Alien Soldier, Gunstar Heroes, and Chase HQ II with Streets of Rage 2, Shadow Dancer, Raiden, and Flashback. BTW, Strider is 8 megabits, not 8 megabytes. :)

The Chase HQ into Shadow Dancer I can agree, but you tripping with the rest of that. And I think he just wanted to put one game per series in there, like why else wouldn't Streets of Rage 2 and Sonic 3/Knuckles be in there? And he's obviously not a sports (only racing) fan at all, cuz NHL 94 or World Series Baseball would've been on there, maybe even one of the later Maddens too.

Actually treasure didn’t make their debut with Gunstar Hero’s. Their first game was a surprisingly good McDonalds game. A very colourful and fun platformer. As racing games go, Donark’s F1 game is probably the best super smooth basic polygons zipping by. Still super playable today. But I would rank Outrun, Lotus Turbo challenge, Super Monac GP Grand Prix high above Chase Hq. And why no love for Micro Machines, Aladdin, street Fighter 2 championship edition (IMO the Md six button pad was better than the SNES) Then there is NBA Jam. Best game ever. I’m going to grab an emulator and play some of these now

I think you are referring to Olympic Gold by US Gold? It was at the time of the Barcelona 92 Olympics and had It's branding on the game. Sonic 1 and Olympic Gold were my first games for the Mega Drive. Happy days.

Everybody like to go with classic..but umk3 is the most well made mortal kombat on the system ...sonic 3&knuckles...edges out sonic 2..when combined....sega genesis has too many games ..everyone who makes a top ten list will get attacked...phantasy star 4..?...comic zone.?.vectorman2...?...too many games games out on genesis..and many cult classics that people would argue for..where is super street fighter 2..?.
