I like how you brought everything together in a circle, talking about specialness and uniqueness. How it starts off by saying "Life isn't interesting if it stops being special", and ending with the twist that it ended in. Bravo!

Dust: An Elysian Tail is… a very special game to me. I bought it out of curiosity a few years back and *instantly* fell in love with the title character. The design, the colors, the amazing performance from Lucien Dodge, it was one of those times where the moment he started talking, I knew he was special. I got so attached and invested in his story, that it made the themes of changing and self-acceptance hit even harder. So when I watched this video and heard that familiar voice come up, I couldn’t help but cry, man. You described every feeling I have for this wonderful game perfectly. Thank you ❤

I was always wondering how does Big Daddy qualify as a cyborg as well as a mutant. Sure, I knew there had to be some mechanical adjustments done to get the functional drill, but OH GOD how horrifying does these hulking bodyguards look underneath those diving suits. And whenever killing these things other than Delta, it's actually a mercy kill to put them out of their agony, even if their attatchment to Little Sisters is genuine enough to even tolerate their existence as mutants. Dammit, why is this so complicated?!

Considering that according to the lore of the Bioshock Series, Big Daddies, outside the alpha series and Delta (or even Subject Sigma if we're counting Minerva's Den), have their organs and flesh surgically grafted to their suits, yeah, I can imagine that they are in pain all the time. So yeah, killing them would essentially be mercy killing them and freeing them from their suffering.

i could feel my hopes rise with the pizza tower music at entry 8, and then the drop of "be ready to get funky" almost made me EXPLODE! HE PLAYED PIZZA TOWER! HOLY SHIT!

#1, specifically the ideas you presented during it, are causing a mix of feelings i am struggling to put into words. I'm not even sure if I think it's a good or bad feeling. Your way with words is something I aspire to, Minion. Poetic, elegant in a way that wrenches emotions out from the depths of the soul so effortlessly. I'm left speechless every single time.

😌🙂 Thank you for giving Delta the respect he deserves and putting him so high on the list. Delta was my introduction to the Bioshock series and to see people acknowledge him makes me happy.

Delta is my favorite bioshock character (no offense to jack), because he was robbed of everything but his mind. Compared to other big daddies, they nothing but guard dogs but delta has the body of a monster and the mind of a man. My favorite moment is when Delta confronts Grace Holloway and is given the option to kill or spare, and when you spare grace she at first insults you but she later says “You had me under a gun... yet you just walk away? No monster alive turns the other cheek. No monster does that. *A thinking man* does that.” Delta to me is the best character of Rapture

8:17 As a My Hero Academia fan, I imagine Fake Peppino would be able to pass off as a Noumu. 20:26 It’s interesting how Mewtwo has a higher BST than Mew 22:08 Sonic the Comic (Not Archie Sonic but the Fleetway Sonic comics) pretty much fumbled the bag adapting Chaos. There he was completely evil and wasn’t even a Chao but a prosecutor for an evil empire

26:19 actually Eleanor was supposed to be Delta actual daughter, for some reason it was cut from the game before it released but you can find the cutscene of eleanor talking about it on youtube,meaning poor Delta was fighting to protecht his family.

One of my favorite mutants I absolutely love are the rockpox infestations from DRG. The way that the rockpox larvae comimg from the lithophage meteorite seeking hosts on to the wildlife on Hoxxes IV infecting and turning them into zombies. This would have been an honorable mention.

God...DAMMIT, Logan, I wasn't prepared to legitimately start tearing up! And yet...you did it. Your masterful script writing and incredible performance actually did it. It may not have gotten me that bad, but...that Dust entry genuinely made me start tearing up. I even felt my jaw tense up and start _quivering_ - I was actually on the verge of full on CRYING! Hell, I'm still feeling it as I write this! And the slightly scary part, for me, is...I don't think anyone else could pull it off like you did. It's not just sadness, but horror as well. It's not just what you were covering, but _how_ you were covering it. You went all-in on the FEELING of it all in addition to the raw plot points, putting your own brand of commentary on it. And that, my good man, is why you will always be one of my favorite countdown creators. Thanks for the incredible list as always, bud. I'm...gonna go hug a puppy plushie for a bit to hopefully calm down.

21:15 fun fact: just to add on the mutation factor in the Pokémon manga mewtwo has human DNA. In the pokespe RGB arc Blaine (who at the time was working under Giovanni in the mewtwo creation project) didn’t think they had enough generic material to create mewtwo so used some of his own. The procedure didn’t work out perfectly and for a number of years mewtwo and Blaine had to stay close to one another to stay alive due to the physical tumors they developed until the GS saga where entei was able to cure the two by literally burning away the growth Blaine had tethering mewtwo to him. Their latest appearance comes in the XY arc where we see an older Blaine and mewtwo living together as equals protecting the Pokémon village in kalos where they are able to utilize both of mewtwo’s mega stones (which I like to believe that one represents mewtwos connection to mew while the other represents his connection to Blaine)

This should be an interesting one, especially if we're talking about going under the surface for mutations. 10: I would not have thought to put her on a list like this, but... yeah. Part human, part Chozo, part Metroid. Not exactly a normality. (Samus Aran (Metroid)) 9: The creators clearly were not thinking when they named the 5th ghost. Probably why we haven't seen them in a LONG time. (Kinky Fusions (PAC-MAN)) 8: I still like the fan name for him; "Pseudough." (Fake Peppino (Pizza Tower)) 7: ...I was going to make a joke about Smash Bros Ultimate, but... yeah, not touching that one. (Smoky Progg (Pikmin)) 6: And this is why I don't play Resident Evil. I like my dreams free of eldritch horrors, thank you very much. (Los Illuminados (Resident Evil 4)) 5: I am currently watching through JelloApocalypse playing through this game and voice-acting it with friends, so I am simply going to skip this one. No spoilers, no matter how small. (Leif (Bug Fables)) 4: I did not expect to see a Pokemon on this list, but Mewtwo certainly fits the bill here. (Mewtwo (Pokemon)) 3: Wait, Chaos is a mutant Chao?! I had no idea that was the case! (Chaos (Sonic the Hedgehog)) 2: We knew he was gonna be here, since he was in the thumbnail, but Number 2. Firstly, that shows how good he is. Secondly, Bioshock 2 ranked Number 2. Funny coincidence. (Subject Delta (Bioshock 2)) 1: First off, how dare Crash Bandicoot not make this list. Second off, and more importantly, I may need to put this on my Christmas list. (Dust (Dust: An Elysian Tail))

No offense, of course, but have you played Sonic Frontiers? In the story, the Ancients would eventually devolve into what are now the Chao, but the first to be mutated would share more of its original roots from the ancients, and would be known as Chaos. I mean, the resemblance is uncanny. The first thing I said when I first saw them was, “Wait, are these guys the ancestors to Chaos?” Pretty cool design choice, if I’m being honest.

@@asherrudick3912 I tried to play it, but for some reason, I am very bad at button mashing. Therefore, I could not beat the first boss. Make fun of me all you want, but yeah, I didn't get to finish that game and so I didn't get that revelation. I think I did get to see a bit of the Ancients and made the connection to Chaos, but I never got to the part where the Ancients became the Chao.

Honestly, when it comes to the combat in the game, I often forget what button combinations are needed for some attacks. Hey, maybe one day, you’ll be able to finish it.

Sen-mithrarin reigns supreme! Honestly, that one really caught me off-guard! Dust, an Elysian Tail is one of my favourite games of all time! The exact philosophy this game brings to you, is one of the most fascinating topics I have ever heard of! Coupled with the absolutely IMMACULATE story, which doesn't seem to have been replicated since, and utterly mind-grabbing gameplay, it really just combines into a delightfully haunting experience!

I know it's a little hard to grasp, mainly because mutation is only really understood as a biological concept. But I liken it to DNA fusion: think how the Jurassic Park franchise mixes and manipulates DNA to create new hybrid dinosaurs...just with spirits rather than genetics.

That last segment really hit deep. As someone as obsessed with identity as myself, I can just say you left a lot to think about. To imagine every soul is not necessarily unique or original, but a mix of what came before. I'd say that's a pretty cool concept! Always leaving a five course meal of ideas, and I have hunger! Amazing countdown!
