I’m taking my ACT this weekend, this was a super helpful video! Although I’m a bit confused about tip #4. I tried it on my calculator and I don’t have a “Solve” option (I have a TI-83 Plus)

This is a great video. I wanna add that it might be more beneficial to add a range of time to complete each of the "units" in the sections. The unit idea would also apply to the English and sciences sections. I would give or take a minute on that 8:45 minute time because some passages are easier or harder than others. A passage that you got every question right on in 7 minutes shouldn't take time away from you answering other questions just because you want to wait 1:45.

Does the comma rule for though also relate to the word however?

Very good question. In many grammar situations, you can absolutely organize a sentence as "comma" + "however" + "comma", for example: "We did not, however, talk about his college list." From my experience, however. The ACT really likes to use however with a semi-colon before and a comma after. For example, "I worked with Peyton on this college list; however, we did not talk about his college essay". Hello Areonna! I am so glad this video was helpful to you. The calculator I was using in this video is a "TI 84" ~> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TI-84_Plus_series. This calculator is what I use in all my ACT math videos, it is my personal favorite. A "TI 83" is basically the same thing (and cheaper), this is what I used in high school and it worked great for me! Ultimately, as long as you have a "Graphing Calculator" (and know how to use it) you will be great! If you are still in the process of discovering all the "superpowers" that a graphing calculator can give you. I'm glad the tips are helpful for you! Unfortunately, this is not a graphing calculator (it cannot graph functions on an X-Y plane) so it cannot be used for that little trick I showed in the video. I would highly recommend buying a graphing calculator. You can get them used for very cheap! :)

Hi Goose Berrry! That is a great question. Here are some things you should make sure you know! Also, let me know if you have any specific math concepts you are struggling with! I'm making tons of new videos and I'd love to make one just for you on whatever concepts you find confusing! A/B = C/D is a fraction format that the ACT uses frequently, but lots of students don't think about the fact that this expression can be rewritten as A*D = B*C !! In other words, you want to know how to work with f(x)! Finally, if you want a more comprehensive option.
