I got so lucky with my little piggy, hes the sweetest thing and even though hes a bit skiddish whenever i put him on my lap he gets so excited and right when i got him he was so trusting and energetic. I really got an outgoing little boy he always makes me laugh. Id love to get him a cagemate but i have so many animals my parents wont allow it so i try to take him out and play with him as much as possible. Its only been two weeks and he already follows me around im so proud of my baby, his name is flapjack ☺️

Hello, guinea pigs rarely bite and once you have got used to holding them I'm sure you will have no problems. I have done a video on taming - the theory behind taming guinea pigs which you might find useful :) You shouldn't have to bath them until they are fully grown really either :)

Yesss C&C cages are AWESOME. I got my guinea pigs from someone that didn't want them anymore and they were in a store bought cage. When I transferred them to the C&C cage they popcorned ALL day. Cutest thing ever. and it was tons of fun building it!

+Squeak Dreams I recently adopted new piggies, and they are currently in a pet store cage. The cage is quite large, as we got the largest rabbit cage there. I do have c and c grids, and want to start building their cage, but I have a cat, and there is doors to piggies room, but if she gets in and the c and c cage has no top she can get to them. Do you have any advice on ways I could make an easily removable cage top with c and c grids, or is it just something I'm gonna have to deal with. Which I'm perfectly ok with because I love my piggies, just wondering.

+Kiera Lamont I was worried about that too. I can't quite remember the name of the company but you can get a Kitchen Maid (I think) shelf and just zip tie it to the back part of grids that you can connect. Easy access and too heavy for the cats to get through :) You can also email Cavy House and she can send you a better description of the top of the cage. Hope this helps!

If the piggy feels sad you can buy a stuffed animal meant for a baby or specifically for pets so the piggy can cuddle up with the stuffed animal :)

my brother found a young black and white girl guinea in the park (woods) by his girlfriends house. seems as though someone left her there. happy we found her. she was a little shy and ptsd prone when we first for her.. but we bought everything we needed and have given her lots of cuddles all day.. and she is doing absolutely great now. she is really sweet. So I've never had a guinea pig but I've read every book in the library (twice?!) and watched every video on KZbin millions of times. I've decided to rescue two guinea pig (in Sweden it's difficult to rescue guinea pigs but I'm rescuing from a private person). But I'm just curious, is old (maybe 3 years) guinea pigs like old dogs? Nelly Saari I'm not sure really but interesting point - I think it will depend on their personality :) Annie (rescue pig) is not as tame and doesn't like being handled compared to Sprite (pet shop pig from baby), but that's just my example :)

This is a very helpful video! I'm new to guinea pigs. I grew up raising rabbits. I currently have 3 rabbits and 3 guinea pigs. I got my guinea pigs about 2 weeks ago. They are still a little shy when I go to see them. They all came from the same place and already lived together. They do get excited when they know food is coming. Our class guinea pig is living horribly :/ she's not abused, but her cage is hecka small, the kids don't give her enough hay (and YES, she HAS run out), they don't clip her toenails, they over-feed her and under-feed her, stuff her cage with newspaper instead of bedding (ran out, we're putting bedding in tomorrow), and when she is taken out, she doesn't go in a pen, and is just handed around and shaken like a toy D: then, when she IS in the pen (which is rare), she's surrounded by annoying kids who don't know the first thing about owning a guinea pig. She can't run around since they'll LITERALLY tral her in the corner, then grab her for no reason, and then complain when she bites. -_-

You can have only one guinea pig, but you have to interact with it for up to an hour every day. You also have to rearrange their toys A LOT if you don't really have the time.

I got my sweet pig in august, and I love him soooooo much. He is a lone puig, but my family is moving soonish and I am having my dad build a fancy diy cage, so I will get him a friend then.

not a good idea ash gunea pigs dont like it when others move in on their space my guinea pigs some times fight because of that if I was u I would look up videos on how to introduce guinea pigs

Ash - Getting him a friend is definitely better than having a lone piggie! As long as they have lots of space, even if they are both bossy characters they should get along fine :) Good luck for the cage and the new piggie!

ANOTHER PET IN MY FAMILY WOW I just got two adorable 10 week old Guinea Pigs, one very fluffy ginger one named biscuit and one black less fluffy one with a white stripe named badger. This really helped since we haven't owned them before. It is also quite a challenge when your cat wants to eat them 😱😂 but we just keep marshmallow our cat away from the piggy, few. Also our dogs, border collies, are very interested in them too, but they don't mean harm, they usually only sniff their fur 😍 anyways thanks for the help.

my sweet dwarf hamster passed. she was amazing, and lived way longer than what I've heard(i think because i fed her fresh veggies everyday and not just pellets). I'm thinking of getting a guinea pig... i really miss having a lil companion.

Please get 2 if at all possible. No matter how much you interact with it, they are naturally herd animals and will never get that companionship from other piggies that they need.
