In regards to Yagyu's "unexplained energy blasts" I have a theory. Every Hazo girl has an animal they're associated with and Yagyu's is the squid. Several attacks summon spectral tentacles and some specials even bring out the whole damn animal. That along with the black colour of the projectiles always led me to interpret those blasts as squid ink.

Iaijutsu isn't about hiding the swords reach. It's a technique for starting a fight. No historical swordsman would resheath their sword mid battle. There is no advantage and significant disadvantages to doing so. I love Rurouni Kenshin as much as anyone, but I can still recognize how unrealistic it is.

also one thing about Yagyu, in one of the Trailers I think we see her juggling a freaking DELIVERY TRUCK on her umbrella. Oh, and the eye she covers has one of her Secret Ninja Arts sealed in it which is unleashed when she removes it. Also, Yagyu's Umbrella does have a sword in it in the anime. Maybe the Umbrella is supposed to match with her Ninja Element of water?

Especially since a lot of more fantastic abilities that we see are a product of Ichiban's imagination, meaning that this homeless man is charging into fights with various criminal organizations with nothing more than an umbrella. That takes some serious stones man.

One other thing to add to Edna: she also uses the parasol because that's about as heavy a weapon as she can handle after using her special ability. Think of it like overworking her body to exhaustion for a single heavy task. So there are even MORE reasons for her to do this.

Ah someone else remembers Eternal Sonata. That game was my introduction to the jrpg sub genre and a big reason why I love it so much today. In terms of gameplay it may not hold up against a true modern masterpiece like Xenoblade or Ni No Kuni, but I still love it nonetheless. Though I disagree on Polka being a Mary Sue. She’s a teenager who acts impulsively especially with her pure heart. That’s the tragedy of her seemingly inescapable fate. Someone who died before she could live.

I KNOW! I literally freaked out seeing my girl Polka! Did you ever play the PS3 version? I have to say gameplay wise I prefer 360 because the difficulty was more balanced. I didn't mind the extra content of PS3 version, but the getting 100% fully (by playing encore mode), I had to grind a lot more because the difficulty spikes were worse, plus they changed up the positioning of your playable chars and foes. So story wise, I prefer PS3, but gameplay wise I prefer 360. Regardless, it's still my fav game to this day.

It's sad because she a good char, but I never used Claves the brief time you get her in Ch. 3, not until near the end of the game when you find the hidden dungeon in the area.

The one thing I know about Tales of Zestiria that many people who played it, (especially if you lived in Japan) found disappointing was how Alisha was handled, she wound up leaving the party 1/3 of the way into the game after she was advertised to be the secondary lead character for the game.

Honestly, I wanna see Peach get her own spinoff game series. I've been thinking of various ways Nintendo could give us more than one Mario RPG while still only technically sticking to one true turn-based RPG series, and one idea I thought up was why not make a spinoff turn-based RPG series centered around a single character? Maybe we could have Paper Luigi give us the classic style PM games we've all been demanding or maybe we could get a spinoff series where Princess Peach gets her own allies to battle evil and be useful, maybe Legend of the Seven Stars style.
