At least it went better than the time me and three other guys were hired to capture Jane Doe, if that WAS her name. So anyway I was supposed to be the driver, and I was in the parking lot waiting for them to get done, two whole hours passed by before I realized none of them returned yet. So to calm my nerves, I turned on some jazz and rolled my seat back when lo and behold, there she was looking down on me, licking her lips like I was a honey bun at 3 AM and so I reached for my gun before blacking out all of a sudden. The last thing I remembered was dreaming about Fireflies and..... Space Baseball when she woke me up, just looming over me like a shark that smelled blood, my arms were tied to the chair and she injected me with something to keep me from wriggling out of bonds, it was like that one lady from that zombie game I played a while back especially when she started rattling off about 'pressure points' and whatnot. So I just told her that I was just the driver, and that I'd tell her whatever she wanted to know and I did, it wasn't professional courtesy but I wasn't going to die so I ratted to the rat and she actually let me go before I blacked out again but here's the problem. I woke up the next morning and my phone was blowing up with news, the boss got arrested because she UPLOADED MY ENTIRE CONFESSION ALL OVER THE INTERNET, I didn't even know she was recording! Well jeez, thank you for not killing me but now no respectable crimelord wants to hire me, and that's why I believe hencemen should have unions.

I'm surprised you didn't include Akuma since he was a human who basically took on a demonic power and he can let it consume him enough to become a demon or oni and I feel like Jubilee from onimusha to should have gotten an honorable mention as well considering his father was human but his mother was a demon and he's able to collect Souls from defeated enemies in order to upgrade weapons and his powers

I'd say the #1 entry becomes even better if you account for the Hunters from Frontier. Because that game starts out mostly the same as its mainline cousins, but as soon as you hit the game's third rank "Elite/Gou rank" they start throwing... more and more balls-to-the-walls monsters at you. Even the more tame monsters, such as the floral status-maestro Forokururu, or the Cave-dwelling Espinas-relative Meraginas, put pretty much everything from World and Rise to shame with how ridiculously strong these guys get. Oh, how about Raviente who takes over an hour if not two hours to kill with how much HP it has and the fact it can one-shot you with every move? Or Dhisufiroa basically being an Alatreon that forewent its Thunder and Dragon powers to crank the other elements to their breaking point? The G Rank exclusive Zenith White Fatalis can LITERALLY SMITE YOU ON THE SPOT NOT EVEN LEAVING A BODY FOR THE FELYNES TO CART AWAY!!! *_AND YOU STILL KICK ITS ASS!!!_*

I always found it weird that Luigi had higher defense, he always seemed less sturdy than his brother, but now that you point it out, yeah, it's not that he's tanking the blows head on, it's that he's prepared to meet damage and try and counter it

You left out one other thing: Luigi is surprisingly Lucky too; considering every situation he goes through and evidenced by his high Stache stats (which in the M&L series represents luck), he manages to get through situations (mostly) on his quick thinking and unpredictable luck. (How else can you explain how he got onto Shipshape before Mario did, and how he managed to avoid getting caught by King Boo in Luigi's Mansion 3?)

My favourite part was how the brothers have different sets of animations depending on whether they're carrying the babies or not. If they do, they act more subdued. They might be stronger, but they have to be more careful in return.

I did a little research on Asimov a while ago, and one thing that came up was the Zeroth Law of Robotics: a robot cannot harm humanity or, through inaction, allow humanity to come to harm. This sounds like an expansion of the First Law, but because it’s placed at zero, it actually supersedes the first. In other words, this new law allows robots to harm humans on an individual level if it means protecting humanity as a whole. On top of that, this law was created by two self-aware robots engaging in Socratic dialogue and not part of their initial programming. So while Mega Man threatening to kill Wily sounds like a violation of the First Law, it could also be seen as upholding the Zeroth Law, and it was a decision he made all on his own.

Even if he'll never be near this list just from how well the others on this list have done, my mind always goes to Nathaniel "Rock" Adams frpm SoulCalibur. Particularly through the animal hides he wears from game to game, most of which belong to animals that are very dangerous or flat out suicidal to face head on. Bears, Buffalo, Mammoths, White Rhino, even what looks like a Horned Lion. (and his SCI 2P has him wear what looks like a Dinosaur skull instead)
