Alice's Dolls from GX and Cathy's Cats from Zexal are the two anime-exclusive archetypes i most want to see printed. there's also the series of LV monsters used by the knight guy in 5ds Fortune Cup arc which all had burn effects, the WIND airship things from Vrains, Titan's Matador Ritual monster from GX, the "Dark Tuner" monsters used by the Dark Signers in 5ds, The soccer cards from Zexal, The cards used by Zuzu's father in Arc-V season 1, Riley Akaba's C/C cards, and Barret's Beastborgs

Chimera doll is one of the most interesting archetypes, because they have a boss monster that becomes more powerful every time it is beaten, and it does so by attaching new creepy doll parts to it. There are a lot of bricks (which can be a big problem I hope they would solve), but if you manage to summon the chimera, you end-up with a very strong and cool boss monster.

I would so play Cat if it got released as a proper archetype. I don't care if it's bad, I would play it. Cathy is my fav member of Yuma's squad and I love cats. I could see Alice the Wandering Doll getting a retrain... but as a Gimmick Puppet monster, since she has several effects she shares with that archetype (putting stuff on your opponent's field and direct damage.) In fact the anime dolls seem like they may have aesthetically inspired Gimmick Puppet, though it could just be a coincidence. And yeah... as a Paleo player I know the pain of lab searching out EEV

Seriously, you would be surprised how powerful things like apathy are. There have been actual studies that if you just walk around with a ladder and a high-vis vest, most people won't question why you are there or trying to get into a building. You literally use Occam's Razor against them: Which is more likely, that they are a real professional doing a job or a thief breaking in? Like yeah, its not an exact solution, but if you just need to break into a dorm one night it would work. Most of the faculty who would even question it aren't going to do it right then and there, and I doubt every Obelisk Blue teacher has memorized the names and faces of every Slypher Red. The actual more interesting part is that she has to disguise herself as a boy, because (and I found this out from a MangaKamen video) the actual school admin had some seriously weird gender equality issues.

All the Meklord parts were in Tag Force 5 and 6 as are plenty of other anime only cards. It was super fun to have them swarm the field especially as the core gained the attack of all the parts so adding stuff like solidarity REALLY pumped up the attack

Alchemy beast could be like the Horus monsters, but instead of being summoned from the graveyard once per turn, they can be summoned from banishment once per turn. And then give them some new support and retrains and it could be pretty cool.

I'm picturing a spell card that lets you sacrifice Maiden in Love to summon Yubel or something. She already matches the "attack me and you have problems" aesthetic Renaming the Guardian monsters as Relic Guardian would clean up the archetype a bit. You could then tag the equipment as Relic cards. All you'd need, after that, is Relic and Relic Guardian support and retrains. You could even cross-synergize with Artifact cards to make it fun

7:59 Thank you! Heavy Metal King definitely needs to be part of the second wave for the Metalmorph archetype. One idea I think they could have his second effect be is basically one that is capable of reviving a monster that mentions Enhanced Metalmorph it’s text from the GY and if said trap is in the GY equip it to the revived monster. Also with Blair’s Maiden in love deck and Mystic deck I feel that for the irl archetype Konami could remake and combine the two into a Mystic Maiden archetype which could be a powerful medieval fairy tale archetype with the Maiden being the main ace of the deck.

Honestly a thought I had while watching this was to make an Xyz as a reference to Valon (call it something like Indomitable Fighter Valon) where each of the armor pieces essentially have zoodiac style effects that give the main guy specific effects. Or give them ritual Djinn style effects limited to a select number of extra deck monsters that are all references to popular anime characters, that way they could make a Joey & even potentially more character references. Also to keep them from being broken they can simply have an effect like "A (boss archetype) monster that uses this card as material gains the following effect: _" or simple summon restrictions like Mayakashis (I know there are more archetypes w/ summon restrictions like them but that was the 1st one I thought of)

I LOVE the Dark Mummy cards. Not only do they look cool, but they could have a lot of potential. I also like the Helixx and Motor Worm decks (mainly because I really love the Knights of Hanoi in general) Though, like you said, a lot of anime Vrains decks seem really cool. Storm Riders, Armatos Legios (I think I'm spelling that right) and Drones, just to name a few that weren't mentioned in this video. Sure, some of these archetypes need reworks (looking at Drones specifically), but they're still really cool and unique. Too bad Konami decided to give us Allure Queen support for this years Animation Chronicles (something that no one was asking for)

Top of my list is the Red Demon Archetype from 5D's where Atlas fought the namesake of Red Dragon Archfiend to unlock more power or something, it involved burn power from the Graveyard. Also, I remember there was another food archetype in GX where they fought the school chef. It was mostly seasonings and curry.

so really fun fact about the armor cards. back in the 2000's on the beyond servers it was fully playable. there was a tournament and my brother played a deck focused on them but mainly a really silly combo using psychic head and buster pyle. long story short the deck leaned more into the "your opponent cant play the game" mode. he won the tourney and got a target gift card. i would like to see them made in RL but fix psychic head and buster pyle please. oh after the tournament they were limited to 1 on the server. cards were too good.

Maiden in love cards that I came up with Maiden’s prince-level 4 1600 attack and 1800 defence when this card is summoned you can special summon one maiden in love from your hand deck or graveyard and than you can add one card from your deck too your hand that specifically mentions maiden in love in it’s text. you can put a maiden counter on one monster your opponent controls you cannot special summon monsters from the extra deck the turn you activate any of these effects you can only use each effect of maidens prince once per turn

Maiden heartbreaker burstinitrix Level 4 same stats as burstinitrix Effect- If you control maiden in love you can special this card in your hand. Once per turn you can return all monsters with maiden counters to your hand and then inflict 200 damage too your opponent for each card returned to your hand And no it wasn’t an accident that I put return to your hand I just thought that would make the effect better than if the cards were destroyed plus this card is a reference too when Jaiden used burst return with burstinitrix against Blair in there first duel

Tag Force 3, Blair has Lightsworn. At that point make her Lightsworn user. And Konomi refuses to give her Lightsworn ever since. I don't know why, since Blair's anime decks are comically bad and every other deck they gave her in later video games is random unplayable DM/GX era trash

Chaz had a pure Light and Darkness Dragon deck in the manga that has finally been printed and Manga Aster had a exclusive deck as well in Vision Hero. So Lightsworn is a exclusive for Tag Force Blair

Blair’s Mystic deck actually was not really a dragon deck that was just the monsters that were shown in the anime. There was also a magician and knight that would have upgrade forms like the dragon but unfortunately they were never shown.

Though honestly when Konami gets around to printing Blair’s cards I now think instead of putting em into a side set like animation chronicles they should do combine the two into a medieval fairy tail archetype called something like Mystic Fairy Tale with the Maiden being the ace monster and decks strategy being producing mystic counters or keep as being called maiden counters on the opponent’s monsters that can negate their effects and take control of em then use the counters on the eggs to get out the baby monsters as well as help evolve em into their adult form with Mystic Revolution being able to summon out the adult forms without the baby forms and there also being a spell that allows Maiden to gain the combine atk of the Mystic monsters on the field. But that is just an idea I have been thinking of with those cards for quite some time.

I feel like if heart tokens do anything, they should feel like a gift. Giving monsters extra attack, defense, or something like that. Only for it to be used against the owner of those monsters in some way. Like her taking control or forcing those monsters to switch with her when attacked. Or even using those monsters to direct attack the owner.

I still want judgment arrows though I'd put a few conditions on it to print it. 1 requires a link monster pointing to the spell zone you want to activate this card in. 2 upon playing this card all other copies of judgement arrows in your hand, deck or graveyard are banished face down. 3, "judgment arrows" effect can only be applied once to a monster pointed to by judgement arrows. 4 only one face up Judgment arrows can exist on your Field or in your Graveyard/banish zone if another judgement arrows is activated the other judgement arrows is banished face down. And the final effect to make it harder to play, banish face down all duplicate Cards in your extra deck until each card only one copy with that name in the extra deck (deck building constraints and effectively making extra deck banishment a nuke to consistency since you can't play dupes)

Instead of banishing all other copeis face-down can't you just put a "You can only activate this card once per Duel" like the Seal of Orichalcos? It would be simpler and doesn't make your deck thinner / helps banishing stuff decks

Since I like capping off fighting game entries in other videos with a super move or KO screen, I've been looking for the thing like that for Yugioh videos, so Duel Links victory lines fit that the most. 8:43 Strike Ninja started out as a Dungeon Dice Monster who wasn't released until three years later (the year after Duke used him in Duel Monsters) though, _Armed_ Ninja was the old staple in the card game, being the spell card equivalent of Trap Master and released as early as Legend of Blue-Eyes White Dragon, the first TCG set (but _not_ the first OCG set). Also Armed Ninja even appeared in the anime before Strike Ninja as part of the Legendary Heroes arc.

I could easily see Alchemy Beasts being reworked to be somewhat similar to the Gold Sarcophagus of Light or King's Sarcophagus archetypes. Doll Chimera could keep the normal monsters and just have link or fusion monsters that either combo like World Chalice or have a mix of effects that work fill the grave with the normal monsters as cost or require and/or scale with having more of them in the grave.

For Amnael, I think you could make a deck full of spells that summon themselves as monsters, or make tokens, so that you don’t need to have a monster that can only be summoned by a spell. Then they could make retrains of Helios and allow you to search macro cosmos, but with some restriction or prerequisite that keeps it from just being a floodgate engine for other decks. Maybe you can find macro cosmos with a boss fusion monster that requires alchemy beasts to summon. Also, Amnael could use Eldlich in the modern game. Eldlich is based on alchemy. Eldlich himself is an embodiment of the Philisopher’s Stone, and the Eldlixir cards reference the same colored Processes that Amnael used on his cards (Scarlet Sanguine = Red Process Rubedo, for example). So even if Bannner’s alchemy beasts didn’t exist, he could use another golden alchemy archetype.

Funny thing about Cats: when theiy were first announced for that crappy 3DS game and their effect texts were published, Monster Cat was mis-translated in its announcement as just destroying all monsters, rather than only lvl 4 and below. Which would've made it bonkers broken for that time: destroyed in battle was actually still very common back then, and combined with Monster Cat returning Stray Cat from the GY to your hand you'd have a constant loop of field wiping + burning (a very respectable 800 per monster, not 400 like in Duel Links), with minimal card investment (you'd just build a normal 36 card deck and add 3x Stray Cat + 1x Monster Cat). But then the game released and the mistranslation became apparant, showing the card only works on lvl 4 and below, and well... [insert noise of someone spraying fecal gunk all over his toilet]

23:30 that’s why I created a brand new type of card based around judgment arrows called Link pendulum monsters where they have links that point up whether it’s 1, 2 or 3 arrows so if you managed to get them in the pendulum zone since they moved the Pendulum Zones to the back rows of the ends of the spell & trap card zones, this is a perfect way to summon out more monsters from the extra deck, whether they are Link monsters or Pendulum monsters! Also, if you have a Pendulum scale, that’s between zero and nine, you’ll be able to summon the special link pendulum monsters depending on what link pendulum card are face up in the extra deck!

Thank you! The pug supports Guardian monsters that can't be normal summoned/set, which are restrictions on the 2 Guardian bosses, Eatos and Dreadscythe, so they can technically be helped by the pug. It's not good support for the whole archetype, but it was the last crumb of support some of Raphael's Guardians were related to.

I am right there with you, with the Armor and the Hydradrives... we needs them. I would also love the roman inspired archetype that the Light ignis used _can't remember names_ or Riley's C/C/C archetype granted that relies too heavily on your opponents playing specific things based off of anime design, but if you tweaked it to allow for the tokens to be used as the materials no matter what then I think it would be fixed.

Here's my take on the Armor Cards: Once you have all pieces assembled, two things happen: - They become untargetable by attacks (and maybe spell / traps as well) - You can only attack with one piece per turn, that piece gets attack equal to your Life Points until the end of the turn / the start of your next turn Basically, once you have the armor, YOU become the boss monster instead, and the individual effects of the pieces could be altered to facilitate extra protection / bonus effects like effect damage protection or piercing attack

12:23 This is completely wrong: Nekogal #2 isn't even part of the Neko archetype because the Nekogals' names are spelled "Kyatto Redi" and "Kyattsu Fearī" as you can see, "cat" is spelled differently with each of them and they do not have Neko in the name. Also, all of her Neko cards were localized as Cat cards but she does have Nekos in her deck. Monster Cat for example is Bake Neko. Also Duel Links and ZEXAL World Duel Carnival changed the effect of Inviting cat to only search Cat Girl monsters and Stray Cat monsters just to avoid the logistical issues of the neko and cat archetypes in the TCG outright.

The "armor" deck could actually be really interesting as a sort of stall/burn continuous spell deck based on making the duelist effectively a monster, where the pieces that successfully hit the board are almost impossible to remove *by either player* making your decision of how to build your armor extremely important, and they provide passive benefits that make you harder to kill and allow you (the duelist) to attack via a hybrid target destruction/burn damage effect. Like one makes it so that you take X less damage (percent or flat, both have up and downsides), one lets you destroy monsters or - if no valid monster target exists - deal burn damage to your opponent (something like "activate this effect; target and destroy one opponent monster. If you cannot, your opponent takes X damage."), one lets you spam-negate things (whether 1/turn or as long as you can pay a cost), etc. etc. I think the key to having it be balanced is to either have each variant have an incredibly specific niche that it handles and have 10+ niches so that you have to choose what niches you need filled in this particular duel and maybe settle for what you have available instead of waiting for the exact card you want, OR the cards are broader but weaker and you're expected to play multiple copies of one of the parts to bulk up that particular set of effects. Taking the "damage reduction" I touched on earlier to demonstrate the difference and using random numbers cuz I'm not balancing the cards I'm giving an example to give the gist, you could have either a pair of cards - "reduce battle damage taken by 2000" and "reduce effect damage taken by 2000" - or one card that has "reduce all instances of damage taken by 1000". Same total effect for two card slots, but one expects you to pick and choose which damage type is more concerning while the other expects you to play extra copies if you're THAT concerned about getting hit.

The Meklord Cores could summon the Meklord emperors we already have when destroyed, but could also equip them with 5 pieces from the deck. The Pueces could be union monsters, and so you dont have to change the names and effects can just refer to a "Union Meklord monster"

I'm surprised the Doll Part cards haven't been printed yet. They were in a voting contest of cards to be printed and were in the top 5. That was the contest Fossils won and were printed. But I really want the Cookpal, Doll Part, Spice/Curry, and Maiden In Love cards printed! They can update their effects, but if they were a normal monster in the anime they need to stay that way!

Dude, Armatos Legio is the archetype everyone wants bc its the most fleshed out in modern ygo anime besides Hydradrive but i tested Hydradrive on Edopro and its not just good like they have one main deck monster to normal summon and if you dont start with it you can pass turn. Armatos Legio aint great either but it has a game plan, cool cards and there are enough cards for this archetype to build a deck without mixing it with another deck.

The Lukeman was some weird hybrid of toku references too (aside from the Kamen Rider Scarf, the overall design seems closer to GARO) but nothing specific and there was that one The Lukeman episode where everyone dressed up as transforming heroes, with Romin very specifically referencing magical girls and Mimi referencing other heroes Ishinomori made that never got the same amount of spotlight (also Swirly dressed up as a kaiju instead lol). That's about all I can think of. Edit: Oh, just found out about Super Quant too. They even have a cute little robot literally named Alphan WTF?

How they could work: Cook Pals - play into the burn traps, like an overly spicy meal, the more spices added to the pot (more traps in the graveyard or under food cemetery) the damage is dealt. For example; "Inflict 300 damage to your opponent, double this damage for every "Cookpal" card with a different name underneath "Food Cemetary"" Meklord - Add support that targets all extra deck monsters. A line of Meklord for Fusion, XYZ, Link, and the originals for Synchro Stunt Ninjas - Magnum is a stunt performer, so have these card based off famous stunt actors (For example, Jackie Chan) Their effects could play into the idea of them being a stunt team. Idea for an archetypal effect; "Once per turn, you can banish this monster until the end phase and special summon one "Stunt Ninja" Synchro monster from your extra deck with the same attribute and level as this monster. When this card is special summed from the banish zone, return all monsters to the extra with the same level/rank/link as this monster." Basically creating an archetype that can synchro summon with just one monster. Doll Chimera - Similar to Skull Servant decks, only give it the clause to banish doll monsters from the graveyard to negate effects Dark Mummy - Field and hand control with the virus traps, plus have the Dark Mummy monsters inflict burn damage for every card sent to the graveyard due to the effect of a virus trap. For example, Crush Card Virus gives the opponent the choice of sending 3 monsters from their deck to the graveyard, an effect that helps the opponent in the modern game. If you had 2 monsters who inflicted 500 damage for each card sent, then the opponent needs to be willing to spend 3000 lifepoints to stack their graveyard. This would also make up for the Dark Mummy monsters low attack stat. Hydradrive - Shown off really well in the anime. It provides great field control and lets you have the advantage over any opponent who predominately uses only one attribute if their deck. Maden in Love - Cover the monster's low attack with an effect that saves you from OTK. A spell with the effect "As long as this card remains face up on the field, your life points cannot be reduced lower than 100 with battles involving "Maden in Love."" And another spell card that reads, "As long as this card and Maden in Love are face up on the field, your opponent must attack Maden in Love with their highest Attack point monster at the start of the battle phase." These clauses save the owner from being OTK'd, and gives them control of the opponent's strongest monster to use against them next turn. Pair this with Dark Door and you've got a mean combo. Alchemy Beasts - Good field spam and can play into cards like Gren Maju really well. Also, similar to Hydradrive, it helps you control the field based on the attributes of the opponent's deck. Armor - The anime showcased it perfectly. Good field spam. Lot's of negates. Gives you the excuse to literally punch your opponent in the face. What's not to love?

I think the Alchemy cards have the potential to be some of the most interesting archetype cards out there, just going off of what would happen if you were to fuse a certain number of elements together and what that would create IRL it would make for an interesting kind of deck where sometimes you'd want copies of one monster more than the other which runs the risk of someone ruining your whole plan but the counter payoff is that you end up with a stronger monster or a monster that is statistically weaker but has a really strong ability that may be bored wipes or banishes every monster from the graveyards and gets points from the banished

Not gonna lie, I got super hyped at the Doll Parts section. I _adore_ the Princess Cologne pseudo-archetype and would love to be able to expand their gameplan in new directions while maintaining aesthetic similarity. And as a fan of Madolches, Nemleria, Nouvelles, _and_ Suships, I agree that food-themed archetypes are always fun. For other anime-only archetypes... Well, most of them have already been made in some capacity or another (though a lot of them could certainly do with retrains by this point), but one of the first that comes to mind is the Yomi archetype; the one used by the Crimson Devil's Familiar, who Jack dueled to gain his Red Nova Dragon. It was kind of a... stall-burn strategy, based around repeatedly destroying your own monsters to inflict burn damage and prevent your opponent from attacking. Being DARK Fiends with 0/0 stats, I feel like they could make for some interesting Yubel or Unchained hybrids with a bit of tweaking, though realistically speaking I imagine they'd be more likely to be adjusted to support Red Dragon Archfiend or Earthbound Immortal decks instead.

For me, I wish Judgement Arrows and Gatling Orge got officially printed. But I also hope the Fairy Tail archetype gets fully grown. The Fairy Tails are a neat concept and having their own archetype with more spells and add traps and extra deck monsters for them could make the archetype very appealing and fun.

37:30 - I actually came up with an idea for how to make Guardians playable, while giving some love to that most neglected method, Ritual. Simply make the Guardians Ritual monsters, with their signature Equips instead being the corresponding Ritual Spells. Have them be able to Ritual Summon the given monster from hand or gy and then equip themselves as the equip spells once that happens. Still needs a bit more fleshing out, probably in the realm of non-specific Ritual Summon effects and conditions for being able to use the 'Ritual Spells' as regular Equips without the RS to increase their flexibility, but I feel pretty confident about this.
