Yaaaay! You finally went somewhere I’ve been. LOL. We didn’t go this year but any other year we’d have had to collab. Phahaha! Please tell me you didn’t leave without trying the fried alligator at the state fair of Texas. If so, you gotta go back! It’s literally better than chicken and so far I haven’t tasted better anywhere than there. Especially with the Cajun side and all. It’s at the indoor food court with all the benches alike right when you walk in, to the left. Also, get a caricature, whether they do it in monotone or color those guys are super talented! So awesome you guys went this year so I could enjoy though we didn’t go. 😭🤣💜

Oh my god, that fair is huge!! So much to do there. Not sure what a corn dog is (I guess it has corn in it?), but it looked good. The fried Oreo snack looked the best, mostly because it looked like a Dutch snack I really like :)

Yes it is so big, but lots of fun! :) The fried oreo was the best part! Corn dog is a hot dog, with a corn breading covering it.

Oh, you got merchs now? Cool. The fair looks cool. I haven't had a corn dog in a long time, and I do wanna try Fletchers!! Ya, everything is fried at state fairs. Once at a fair in the OC they had deep fried butter!! Butter!! I always feel those carnival games are rigged against you. I hate spinning rides cuz I don't like getting dizzy.

Never been to the Texas State Fair. Leslie and Lauren got to go a couple of times when I was deployed to Iraq. We will have to plan to stop there during our travels so I can see it. Portable rides not really my thing, but love me some funnel cake.

Haha, yes, state fairs are the place you pay money in order to pay more money to do anything XD I like how there are some unique things at other state fairs, even though apparently a good percentage of every state fair has the same companies traveling to different ones. It's interesting that you pay for a ticket-like thing for food, since at ours we pay cash or card for food but do have to go through the ticket thing for rides. Fun video!

All depends how much stuff you'd like to do! They do a lot of amazing discounts when you buy admission tickets and food and game tickets together. I know Kroger does a deal and we normally get mail to our house every year that gives us a big discount option. We spent about 40 dollars on game and food tickets to do all the things we did in the video, so hopefully that helps you. If you go on Tuesday nights they do a dr pepper night where you bring a can of dr pepper and it only cost 5 dollars to get in.

Is the Texas state fair all carnival and merch? My favorite thing about the Iowa state fair is looking at the exhibits that competitors entered for judging. Animals, baked goods, art projects, and so much more that people, especially 4-Hers bring, hoping to win first place. Livestock; cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens, horses, and more submitted for judging. Also, there are fun activities, like learn how to milk a cow, cow chip toss, and husband calling contest. Doesn’t Texas have any of those things? Is it 100% commercial? Could it be that Texas has become too citified for a traditional state fair? I’m moving down there, and I was looking forward to checking out the state fair, but if it is nothing more than an amusement park, no thanks. This video was entertaining, but I’m disappointed about what’s missing.
