Very interesting comment, given that in 1964, when The DVDS was in full swing, DVD read a statement about race relations in the US written by Rod Serling. I loved this show, still do. But assigning it the weighty role of representing "the good old days, when things were so much better", is something even its star would reject.

Well, Let's see now. The sixties, ah yes. We had literacy tests to keep black people from voting; anti-miscegenation laws to keep races from intermarrying; Women were treated as second class citizens; Viet Nam, dioxins, Kent State, A Buddhist monk self-immolated; JFK, Dr.King, RFK, all in one decade. People were eating tuna salad in jello, for crying out loud.
