Córdoba, Andalucia, Spain - I spent several days here in March where I visited all the main points of interest. Córdoba has a long and diverse history. It was originally a Roman settlement known as Corduba and later became the capital of the Islamic Emirate and then the Caliphate of Córdoba during the medieval period, making it one of the most important cities in the Islamic world. After the Reconquista, it fell under Christian rule.
After the Reconquista, a cathedral was built within the mosque, creating a unique blend of Islamic and Christian architecture. The result is the Mezquita-Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most visited monuments in Spain. This has to be one of the most spectacular buildings I have ever visited.
This Alcázar was built by Christian monarchs in the 14th century. It served as one of the primary residences of Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon, who met with Christopher Columbus here before his voyage to the Americas.
Also included in the video is the archaeological site of Medina Azahara, also known as the "Shining City". It was once a magnificent palatial city built by Abd-ar-Rahman III, the first Caliph of Córdoba, during the 10th century. The city served as the capital of the Caliphate of Córdoba.
I also recommend the following evening shows:
Caballerizas Reales show with Andalucian horses & Flamenco dancers. This was an amazing show and you can book on this link: gyg.me/zX8z6Xsk
Flamenco Show at the Tablao El Cardenel : gyg.me/SzirfeGr
I wasn't able to film at the evening shows so these aren't included in my video.
