I hope they know that what they accomplished in these matches is something to be proud of, even if they didn't quite reach Adriana's level. I think the difference in performance was more based on map and killer choice than skill. Midwich is vastly better than the game (for killer), and the gen and corrupt spawns were way better for skull merchant in game 1. Also, knights add ons are terrible compared to the buffed merchant. That being said, this does show promise that these killers will become viable in comp as their players learn more about them. Comp players willingness to accept them based on the generally agreed “unfun” counterplay…that’s questionable.

Does make me question if behavior should make hinder basekit to her power. Since the speed boost to Skull merchant and the speed reduction to survivors is more beneficial for her. Behavior should add this because it does fix the core issues with the skull merchant poor anti-loop.

As someone who recently did a 48 winstreak with Knight, I gotta say that he is MUCH better in chase than in holding a 3-gen, but his real strength is in his ability to hold constant pressure on at least 3 survivors at a time. And this is what makes him boring for survivors: Knight is almost unbeatable if you tunnel someone out, even if it’s a “1 gen left” situation.

I was playing Knight last night and got messaged by a Survivor after saying I was "crazy to play Knight." But I absolutely love Knight. They can generate so much pressure by splitting up and sending guards to do one thing while they do something else. Also, downing two people at once on opposite sides of the map is the best feeling, lol.

Yeah, same issue with Skull Merchant. As soon as 1 player is dead, they are almost unbeatable without sacrificing at least 5 more hookstages, which, with 3 people, is basically giving 1 free additional kill. I think both Skull Merchant and Knight need a token system based on how many survivors and generators are left. Buff everything by 5% for each generator that gets completed and nerf everything by 30% for each survivor who dies. That way, early game tunneling is heavily discouraged and you're encouraged to hook as many different survivors as possible, which gets easier for each generator that gets finished, but not make it impossible for survivors to defeat once teammates start dying.

THIS A lot of people sleep on knight's chase and pressure on multiple survivors power because all other knight players are miserable people who only plays to protect gens as Bubba protects his family I really hope that something gets done about 3gen in a whole so both Knight and Skull Merchant recieve some love from community, but especially Knight because it has so much potential in chase and multiple pressure compared to Skull Merchant

The plays from Adriana in Round 2 were INCREDIBLE. She was oppressive all over the map, using her drones to get the upper hand in chase and still keeping track of other survivors while she did so. Absolutely nutty gameplay, super fun to watch. I really hope there’s a revolution of sorts with how people play Skull Merchant bc those chase addons are WILD

Because I enjoy her and play her with the same addons and a similar build and always get people giving me crap or DCing even though I don't really use the drones on gens. Yeah but the lowest common denominator will always ruin a killer's rep. Like Bubba. Bubba has a reputation for face-camping even though honestly, I hardly ever see Bubba's explicitly face-camping at 5gens. The problem with these killers is that they're so stupidly easy to hold genlocks with. In this showcase, the killers kinda went out of their way to not do that and what sucks is they both could've done that easily & gotten a 3k. It's just the easiest way to play those killers and people aren't gonna bother getting good when they can win for free.

THIS is how Knight is meant to be played. As a Knight main, this was IMMENSELY satisfying to watch. The timing of the guards, the precise movement in laying the path, the 'divide and conquer' gameplay- Absolute perfection. The guards are MEANT to flush out prey and one of the points title is literally called "Flush Out". They're meant to take on one task while you do another, then taking in their positioning and their direction after and acting accordingly with the information. I am legit envious of how beautifully executed the path-making is as well as the looping survivors. I'm not at that level quite yet but by god is it rewarding just to see how well it can work. I /wish/ more Knight players acted like this in games instead of the easy and boring 3-gen strategy. There is nothing more frustrating than seeing Tarhos' potential being so frivolously wasted. An extreme amount of respect for this person. Made my entire night - pun intended!

The survivors aren't going to handicap themselves to give you a fair game and I'm all for corrections to camping and tunneling but 3 gens are something that requires a good bit of control over the map. It's just easier to do with certain killers like skull merchant and the knight. Basically if your not trying to exert control on the map to guide the survivors into your hand(3 gen situation) then your just making it easier for them. It's not the same as tunneling and camping one survivor until they die. By which I mean it's a reasonable and easily counterable mechanic if you have map awareness.

Knight is one of my favorite killers, and I’ve been playing for a long ass time. That second game really showed what I love about him, with the way he can work in chase and harass multiple survivors at once. WAY more fun then just patrolling around a 3 gen over and over. I've always been a huge advocate for both of these killers because they give Killers something that no other killer really can give in spades. Automation. Knight can automate breaking pallets, generators, or even chases to focus down multiple survivors while Skull Merchant can automate patrolling generators or main building to weaken them and make them less enticing for survivors. And I think this is what I think makes them fun but also what I think people hate most about these killers. If a Knight or Skull Merchant wills it, they can be in complete control of how the map plays and a lot of survivors dislikes being forced to play a certain way to counter them. It's one of the many reasons Spirit got hit with a fat nerf that made her phasing directional. Or why we constantly get nerf after nerf to the Twins despite them not really deserving it. I think BHVR's design philosophy (starting from Dredge ironically enough) is to give the killer some passive pressure and make that passive pressure actually mean something. Like I'm not talking about Plague having "passive pressure" because once you're injured, her pukes don't really matter. Or how killers like Doctor can "Slowdown" survivors with madness. I'm talking about killers who can actively put survivors down from doing anything by using their power while they're elsewhere. And frankly I am quite excited to see this type of killer become more common. Chases has become quite dull with how every killer basically plays the same with slight variations in chase. But with Knight and Skull Merchant, it does feel like I am playing into their hands for the most part and I have to break through whatever offensive/defensive barriers they put up to stop me.

I would argue the passive pressure started with Nemesis, actually. With his zombies and infection. After that we got Pinhead, Sadako, Dredge, Wesker, and Skull Merchant, all of whom have passive pressure in their kits. Only Artist doesn't, unless you count cross-map bird harassment. I also think Knight gets too much hate. I think he's a really fun and dynamic killer to play as and against when he's not just holding 3gens. Skull Merchant I think is almost irredeemable, though, I'm sorry to say. Her kit is unbelievably frustrating to play against and unsatisfying to use. The killer in this video has to run two rare addons just to make her threatening in chase, compared to Knight who only needs browns and yellows to increase his chase potential. That's untenable for anyone but dedicated SM mains, and really requires you to actually want to play her in a more dynamic way than camping 3gens. It's not like Leatherface, who is natively really good in chase and camping is just the path of least resistance. Skull Merchant needs a full on rework because she's incredibly unhealthy for the game right now. And I'm saying this as a Pinhead main, someone else people love to hate. Pinhead has to at least commit to chases to get pressure.

What I love the most about Skull Merchant is her ability to enable really smart builds that other killers simply couldn't do. You can do an impossible skill check build with her iri add-on, totem defend build for 5 stacks of devour, 24/7 stealthy Skull Merchant and the list goes on and on. My favourite personal build on her is an aura reading build with her purple add-ons and lethal pursuer ❤

It’s mostly only comp players that know how to run against a doc. Going against doc will make your pathing better as a survivor.

It’s mostly only comp players that know how to run against a doc. Going against doc will make your pathing better as a survivor.

I love playing knights guards similar to spirit, it’s so much more enjoyable than just having them guarding hooks or gens. You get so much pressure going and it’s so satisfying when you can have everyone occupied at once

Dam, ggs to both killers and massive props to the knight player for not only performing as well as they did while less experienced and possibly tired, but the fact they are that good as a knight is hard to believe, and on top of that is the fact they have the dedication to a killer thats not in the slightest easy to learn or master and got really good with em is mind blowing, especially with how well they managed theyre occupation and downtime, never more than 30 seconds without seeing a survivor or wasting time. Skullmerch was down right disgusting (in a good way mind you) with the same applications as the knight, with the management and downtime. Truly a spectacle of a video and the survivors deserve credit too cause its not easy going against really good players of a specific killer, and the two indoor maps on top of it.

There are killers that defend 3-gens better. Honestly the problem is a mixture of survivor obliviousness in solo queue which often results in killers gaining the best 3-gen spots for free. And the other problem is gen placement RNG.

A lot of sarcastic comments, but I can definitely see why some find it fun to play the two. There's a lot of potential for misdirection, prediction, strategy, set-up, and the cutting off of options for the survivors in chase with proper management. They both sort of have multi-task strategies where they could be chasing one person while messing with the gen of another, possibly even leading to a hit/expose, though the Knight has to be a bit more active on that. The two definitely don't have the brute strength and powers of top tier killers, but they can exert a lot of pressure and surprise people with the situations they end up in. They both played really well, and I hope the community's perception from both sides on the two killers will start to shift. Three genning will unfortunately be a bit of a problem, and I think we did see a little bit of that on the last Skull Merchant game.I can hardly blame her doing that with her map and I think she showed enough anyways outside of it. With the overall nerfs to three gens and the power the player showed with Skull Merchant in chase, I think it would be possible to eventually tinker with her enough that we start seeing more proactive and aggressive Skull Merchants. The Knight even with less experience than everyone showed a lot of interesting moments during chase and especially right after one ends, where they can get a bunch of advantages by correctly intuiting where the survivors are and what they are doing. Had fun watching.

@@TheycallmeSeanD STBFL Merchant is really fun. You can get a decent amount of free hits thanks to the stealth and/or zoning out loops with drones, and then the passive haste plus some STBFL stacks turns her into a surprisingly lethal chase threat. Good stuff!!

This video made me realise what Skull Merchant's best power really is; having the strongest mindgame potential in all of DBD. The undetectable, the speed boosts, the various addon combos she can use, the claw traps making pallets unsafe, plus the one hitting potential from exposing survivors. If you know what you're doing you can go from a mere M1 killer with tracking to one of the best killers at 1v1s whilst having basekit information and slowing down survivors by forcing them to interact with your drones. Putting it into words like this makes her seem like a high B-tier killer if played skillfully.

Besides the difference in hours, it’s also worth noting the SM needed TWO purple add ons in order to do as well as she did versus the yellow/brown from Knight. I really think that shows how Knight is better than SM. I would’ve liked if they had a round where they used nothing higher than yellow add one

There's way too much stigma around these two killers. They could 3 gen you mostly because of the CoB - Overcharge combo. I play Skull Merchant without playing around a 3 gen - I use her power in chase and go for Haste and Exposed plays. Still, the other day a game where 2 survivors managed to get out, they flamed me a LOT in post game chat for "playing a 3 gen killer", having to "learn to play a real killer" and so on when I wasn't even playing a 3 gen. It's not that I'm offended or anything but there are players that don't use these killers for camping gens and they should get credit instead of flame.

Hey, Main Knight here (Iridescent 1), some tips for the ones complaning: 1- To avoid the 3 gen, use Dejavu perk, it makes you see the easier 3gen in the map, always do the middle gen. 2- The only guard that is faster then a surv is the assassin, to this one, try use verticality to you advantage, he is pretty clunky wile falling, run straight foward to avoid the others, don't vault or waste pallets, this will just slow you down. 3- If the knight is not breaking pallets, they are probably rocking aura-reading build, use Yui's perk to stand up the pallets as often as you can.

Killers are broken af and killer mains are ruining the game with their toxicity. Camping, tunneling and trash talking in the end game chat are more prevalent than ever. I’m at the point now where I enjoy using cheats against these trash killer players. I love when they try to camp me and I just immediately unhook myself or when I run at 1000% of the normal speed lmao. That’s what these losers deserve and I don’t feel bad one bit. Maybe once killers get nerfed and the game is fair and actually balanced again I’ll play normally.

I still don't see how Knight is considered a 3 genner in the same league as Miss Hips. If he plants a guard near you just take the hit and continue working on the gen. If you are injured then run away and never get hit ever because they run so slow.

I love playing Knight with: Lethal pursuer, Nowhere to hide, Eruption and any good regression perk like Pain Reso/Jolt (before it was Call Of Brine but since the nerf I don't use it anymore). When I play him I almost never run in a 3 gen defend situation. It's either I kill them before that or they destroy me. I don't like camping gen

I like knight for many reasons but my favorite is the chill he brings when playing him, But there is a trick with him that can get an instant down using guards (with no add-ons) it's hard to pull, but it's funny to see when it happens

Yes, Otz and hens are aware of the instadown, they refer to it as the "double hit" i.e. hunted survivor gets hit by a guard and immediately m1ed by the killer before the speed boost can kick in. Our Knight player didn't quite manage the double hit, but they did get some very good value from guard hits at least!
