there was a bug report from one of our ever so lovely war thunder players stating that the turret ring of the abrams is fucked up and is in badly need of a fix/buff. The report was acknowledged and i really hope that gaijin does something about it. fixing that turret ring weakness i believe would really improve the abrams by a ton i believe.

Russian bias is documents being released with b.s. inflated numbers, and outright lies like they have been doing for decades to get America to overspend on the military to keep up.

Sorry, all Abrams beyond the 10.3 base model (which also has its own issues, like a baffling round it never used and was replaced before the TURMS round even existed) are really poorly modeled in-game. The armor and spall liner being wrong ARE the issue. Yes, if you run riot and are never shot all top tier MBTs are virtually the same. But we get shot in the game called War Thunder. So if you're shot every X minutes and there's a 10% chance you survive and return fire in an Abrams variant vs 50% in a Russian MBT or modern Leopard 2, then IN AGGREGATE the Abrams is going to do way worse. It means you have to shoot a US team a number of shots equal to 1.11x the number of vehicles but you have to shoot a Russian or German vehicle team equal to 2x the number of vehicles. Imagine having nearly identical stats on paper on all nations except one nation just arbitrarily has 55% of the HP of the other one. That's what is going on here. Yeah you COULD have a good game, but on average the games are worse. The numbers are just example throwaway numbers and I will castrate the first person to get lost in a challenge towards 50% first shot survival as a stat.

Even if Abrams got its spall liners and extra armor, and a properly modeled turret ring, the turret ring weak spot doesn't go away. Don't really see the extra survivability for its peers too much apart from leopard 2A7/Strv 122's though. T-80BVM's and T-90M's tend to die pretty easily for me. I often see allot of Abrams players completely out of position, even more often than players from other nations I play. The tank itself is physically underperforming, but that was never the main issue with the tank IMO...

The autoloader was caught by spall that wasn't going to hit the crew anyway. What saved that T-90M were the spall liners (Barely, as the commander was red). I've noticed little to no difference in shooting Russian tanks than before. If anything, this is a nerf for them since they only have what's in the breach and nothing more
