Some fab tips I’ve not seen or read about in any books. Will be definitely be used when I get my first eyass harris’ hawk later this year (hopefully).

Some hard earned knowledge in there I'm sure. Have to try the creance line trick with my string lines, they're usually one huge knot.

Thanks so much for all of your quality videos. Information in the form of videos for falconry is very rare. :D

I made some leashes with the knots I over come that problem with the right size swivel but I pulled up some shrink tube just a small bit up to the knot to stop that happening and also stops the leash from rubbing on swivel haven’t had that problem since 👍 love all your videos and tips

Falconry glove in a washing machine?!? That's a divorce waiting to happen. 😁 Creances.. when I'm getting the hawk airborne after the moult she's never gone off against the creance for years. The Kestrel however, is a different matter! I use a bungee made from fishing elastic. Tie a metre length, doubled, on the line to a clip on the vest. Leave about 2 metres of creance between the knot and the "spool". The creance actually holds the bird, the bungee just takes the "twang" out of line if the bird tries to go off, before it reaches the end of the creance. Hope that makes sense! I might be entirely wrong, but it seems to work for me.

Great tips for all, I used my creance wrongly at times next time I will be wiser thank you. As usual trusted experience is priceless, thank you for sharing. I noticed the hood had no braces I hadn’t seen that. Also I was thinking of how heavy dog catches are pulling on hawks ankles , I guess light small is best but quality.

Great tips 👍👍. I like the look of loop leashes, but if your furniture's the right size and fit is tangling really an issue? If God forbid your bird gets loose with all its equipment attached, at least it's got a chance of the leash falling out with the old style? 🤷🏻♂️. Nice video though 😊

Yes tangling is always an issue for any bird of prey and the more we can reduce the chance of it the better. If your bird gets free with the swivel attached to its jesses leash or no leash it’s chances are slim!
