Love to see everybody enjoying the runs that have been opening at keystone. As a night shift snowmaker, our crew has been working super hard to put out the best quality. While also opening up runs as fast as we can. In just 2 weeks and a mediocre snow storm we were able to open 2.5 miles of edge to edge terrain! I’m from south florida, this is my first season out here. MEGA stoked on putting a board under my feet… not to mention enjoy the snow myself and our crew made while seeing everyone else enjoy it. Maybe I’ll catch you out there 🤙🏽 spring dipper and paymaster opening soon!!

I've never gone before December except when I was in Utah but that is looking almost worth it. Still not quite there- need a couple more runs to make the drive from Denver worth it. I just can't do schoolmarm all day.

Yo Lucas I’m glad you mentioned boots…I’ve focused quite a bit of my time into nerding out about them over the past few season leaning what I can as a weekend warrior. I used to ski Dalbello Krypton’s like you with their three piece cabrio design. While I did like how much support I got right at the top of their travel, I didn’t care much for how that was it how the support or flex pattern didn’t ramp up through the boots flex with all the “stiffness” being in the tongue. Plus I noticed the clog or lower shell bowed a ton when I flexed them boot which didn’t help its stiffness, left some to be desired in the heel pocket blah blah Anyway, seeing how hard you shred id definitely encourage investigating a different boot. Dalbello makes a 130 tongue you can swap in for more support. But I’ve since swapped to a few pairs of traditional two piece or overlap boots and have been blown away how the different characteristics in their flex patterns make a difference with the more traditional boots ramping up as the boot flexes. Soft off the top for subtle changes in terrain, angle and knee angles etc, and ramps up super well when the boot starts to flex underneath me. May be a way to diversify your content! Perhaps building a relationship with a local shop you like sitting down with their boot fitters have a conversation with them on the magic that’s what they do…maybe during a wed livestream or a series of episodes this season as you investigate boots that may be more appropriate for you

Hey dude! Wow just read through this whole thing and you have some great information and points in here. Honestly some things I didn’t even know. I’m just so used to skiing with what I have but lately I’ve been thinking my weakest piece of gear is my boots. I don’t dislike the dalbellos but I certainly don’t love them. I’m gonna do some looking around to what’s out there and I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge and expertise here with us.

I was there that day too.. My guess is that I was done by the time you got started.. I think I was done by 10:30.. The gondola still wasn't open.. Do you remember what time it was when the gondola was open? It was nice that there wasn't that many people there. Not once did I go up the chairlift with anyone..

I did new boots last year at a great fitter at Palisades... I ended up in a 120, and I"m guessing I'm a lot lighter and generally less aggressive that you are. I'm guessing you'd enjoy the added control and power of some stiffer shoes.

I use to use a 98 armada and yeah the wider ski is definitely better for me. Having more surface area under my foot allows me to ski much harder
