Sandra Gomez Even the KJV Bible have many bad Translation of Verses in it. The KJV Bible Translators added 1 John 5:7 to the KJV ! This verse is not found in the Original Manuscripts. *Does 1 John 5:7-8 Have Added Text ?* Some person or persons in centuries past were so zealous to find support for their belief in the Trinity that they literally added it. There are numerous Scholars in fact that inform us that this passage has a spurious comment which has been added. The textual Scholar Bart Ehrman described this forgery as follows: “…this represents the most obvious instance of a theologically motivated corruption in the entire manuscript tradition of the New Testament.” Thus the scholarly consensus is that this passage is a Latin corruption that found its way into a Greek manuscript at an early date while being absent from the THOUSANDS of other manuscripts. This addition is so famous and hence so well known that it has even been given its own name and is called the “Comma Johanneum.” Comma means a short clause. Modern Bible translations come from two manuscripts called the Codex Sinaiticus, which has more edits than any other manuscript in Biblical history (14800 edits), and the Codex Vaticanus which comes from the Vatican. These two manuscripts do NOT contain the Comma Johanneum and why this added text is not found in modern Bible translations other than the NKJV where it was added only to match the KJV. The King James New Testament on the other hand was compiled from over 5000 copies of copies of the original manuscripts which have long since perished. Now please take careful note that this added text was found in only ONE of the 5000 plus manuscripts. THAT MEANS ADDED ! And so there is not one major theologian that does not acknowledge this fact. And yet considering all the irrefutable facts, it is amazing that there are still some who go into denial rather than acknowledge this well-known corruption that is so famous that it has even been given its own name ! The English King James Bible translated in 1611 AD retains this Trinitarian forgery, but none of our modern translations have it except the NKJV where it was added to match the KJV. The King James Version reads as follows, “For there are three that bear record IN HEAVEN, THE FATHER, THE WORD, AND THE HOLY GHOST: AND THESE THREE ARE ONE. 8 AND THERE ARE THREE THAT BEAR WITNESS IN EARTH, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.” 1 John 5:7-8 Thus the words in CAPS are found in the KJV, NKJV but are missing from almost every other translation. Thomas Nelson and Sons Catholic Commentary, 1951, page 1186 states, “It is now generally held that this passage, called the Gomma Johanneum, is a gloss that crept into the text of the Old Latin and Vulgate at an early date, but found its way into the Greek text only in the 15th and 16th centuries.” Here is how 1 John 5:7-8 reads from the NIV and most other Bible translations. “For there are three that testify: 8 the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.” Erasmus did not include the infamous Comma Johanneum of 1 John 5:7-8 in either his 1516 or 1519 editions of his Greek New Testament but made its way into his third edition in 1522 because of pressure from the Catholic Church. After his first edition appeared in 1516, there arose such a furor over the absence of the Comma that Erasmus needed to defend himself. He argued that he did not put in the Comma Trinitarian formula because he found no Greek manuscripts that included it. Once one was produced called the Codex 61, that was written by one Roy or Froy at Oxford in c. 1520, he reluctantly agreed to include it in his subsequent editions. Erasmus probably altered the text because of politico-theologico-economic concerns. He did not want his reputation ruined, nor his Novum Instrumentum to go unsold. Thus it passed into the Stephanus Greek New Testament in 1551 (first New Testament in verses), which came to be called the Textus Receptus, and became the basis for the Geneva Bible New Testament in 1557 and the Authorized King James Version in 1611. “The passage as given in the KJV is in no Greek Manuscript earlier than the 15th and 16th centuries. The disputed words found their way into the KJV by way of the Greek text of Erasmus (see Volum V, page 141). It is said that Erasmus offered to include the disputed words in his Greek Testament if he were shown even one Greek Manuscript that contained them. A library in Dublin produced such a Manuscript (known as 34), and Erasmus included the passage in his text. It is now believed that the later editions of the Vulgate acquired the passage by the mistake of a scribe who included an exegetical marginal comment in the Bible text that he was copying . Here is more food for thought. In the Gospel of John chapter 17 verse 11, Jesus is praying for his disciples. In this prayer he addresses God Almighty as Holy Father. That is one of the many names of your way our almighty God. What gives the Pope the right to be addressed by the name by one of the names of almighty God himself? Another side note is in the gospels, Jesus teaches us that we are not to call anyone father that only Our Father in heaven is father. But of course, priests are referred to as father. The pope is referred to as Holy Father. It kind of makes me wonder if they didn't read the red letters in the New Testament or if they've just turned a blind eye to it and are so steeped in their tradition that they're too proud to admit that they're wrong. The bible tells us the faith of the pope will not fail and it is his job to intercede to Christ on behalf of His church (Luke 22:32). The church is where we find the wisdom of God (Eph 3:10). Christ has left in His church a perpetual succession of orthodox pastors and teachers, to preserve the faithful in unity and truth (Eph 4:10-15). That this church will never come to an end (Eph 3:21).This only fits the Catholic Church as no other faith claiming Christ started 2000 years ago according to the history they have kept. None of them conquered the Roman Empire. None of them follow the man with the key of David in an apostolic line back to Peter. None of them call Mary blessed and none of them have a sacrifice performed in all places by the gentiles. This biblical description only fits the Catholic Church. The problem here is that I have watched these videos claiming that the Catholic Church is evil but when I researched what is claimed against the church, their facts turn out to be false. The reason for this is because there is no way around the fact that the only church that could have come from Christ is the Catholic Church. The original 1611 King James Bible was identical to the Catholic Bible with the Catholic Church calendar printed in it and pictures of Catholic saints. Fast forward 400 years to our time and the Catholic Church bibles and still unchanged since the 4thy-century Latin Vulgate. However, the King James Bible is completely different. That should be enough to tell you that you have not been told the truth. Do the research, know your enemy and God bless.

That is what I'm trying to say the research in these videos does not check out when you try to verify them and they should if they are true. These have all been put to me before and I can answer them because I didn't believe what I was told until I did the research. Take for example what you have mentioned here, the bible says you cannot worship idols. This true, however, the Catholic Church does not worship statutes, they have them as representations of holy figures. The bible even confirms that we are allowed to use statues and images for religious use and it is not the same as idol worship (Ex 25:18; Duet 4:16; Num 21:6-9; 1King 6:23-29; 7:23-39). So the question is where did Christians who follow the bible get this false idea that statues and images equal idol worship? The answer is from Islam. Protestants in the 17th-century tried to add Islamic beliefs into the Bible (Turko-Calvinism). Further, the Catholic Church never claims that Mary and the saints are gods. But the Bible tells us that the saints in heaven receive our prayers and offers them up to the Lord on our behalf aka the intercession of the saints (Rev 5 and 8). So it is anti-biblical to say the Catholic Church is doing the wrong thing. Plus Mary is prophecied as the queen who will intercede for the people of God to Christ the King in the Old Testament (Palm 45). Mary knew the scriptures and made reference to this (Luke 1:48). The bible doesn't say to follow the bible alone it says the church is the pillar and bulwark of the truth and this church is headed by the man with the key of David in an apostolic line back to Peter (Mat 16:18-19). We are told if we do not follow this authority then we will go to hell (Mat 18:17). Now you say that God will preserve His word but as I mentioned in my previous comment, the King James Bible was originally Catholic and has now been changed, so the current version cannot be the true word of God.

The holy spirit of God is also referred to as the spirit of Truth. In the gospels, Jesus promises the Holy Spirit, the comforter. That he will guide us into all truth. That's why I have been given spiritual discernment. The gospels record Jesus's interactions with the scribes and the Pharisees, whom Jesus told them that they are of their father the devil. They were so steeped in their traditions their oral Traditions the written Traditions they'd gotten so far away Beyond the Torah the Old Testament law that the spirit and intent was completely lost as a result of their legalism. And one of the purposes of Jesus's confrontation with them was to restore all things. And to teach us the spirit and intent of what the Lord meant in the first place by his statutes and Commandments and not eliminate the private interpretations they it applied to God's law. My purpose for making these comments today is not to bash anyone. Not to judge anyone. But to concentrate on sharing the truth of God's word in relation to what's being done in the in the Catholic church and has been for centuries. The two just don't marry up with one another. And that was the primary reason why I left the church. I was spiritually dead and simply steeped in all of their dogmas and oral traditions and did not have a personal saving relationship with Jesus Christ. And that is what it's all about. This is common knowledge and all Protestants are aware, and have been for more than 500 years. We have been told to "Come out of her", not to constantly steep ourselves in her doctrine. The task at hand is to announce the Truth of Righteousness, and the Gospel of Jesus the Christ. Saturday Sabbath is the most important Truth and is a sign of our observance and dedication to the commandments of God. Without this, we are following the doctrine of the Beast System and the Whore.

Go back to the beginning of the Church. Jesus' church. What did the Romans do to Christ-followers? What have they done since the beginning;? I was Catholic most of my whole life; raised Catholic, and attended Catholic school. I thank GOD I was brought up knowing Him... I recognized Jesus as My Savior and Lord as a little girl, because that is what I was taught; and I believe many Catholics ARE saved, but following religious ritual instead of following Christ --and sadly, many do not know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, but view going to Mass once a week, getting Communion, going to Confession and doing good works will get them to Heaven. This is a tragedy in many religious churches--the snake slithers in with part truth; perverts truth. Jesus is the ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN; THE ONLY WAY TO THE FATHER IS THROUGH HIM.. Many become entangled in religious doctrinal teachings, and/or routine rituals rather than learning and understanding the Truth that Christ's Cross and His poured-out blood washing our sin-filled souls clean is the Only Way to Eternal Life. The True Gospel of Salvation is that there is no other name under which we are saved; that God sent His only Son so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting Life; that if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is (your) Lord, you are His. The Holy Spirit, the "earnest of our inheritance", indwells within true believers, and leads, guides, sanctifies, and "leads us to all truth and understanding." HE IS THE ONE WHO LEADS US TO DO THE COMMISSION CHRIST REQUIRES US TO DO. The problem with 'religion'; any religion--is that it can become a substitute for a true, deep, loving, and meaningful relationship with God the Father, with Christ Jesus Our Lord and Savior, and Holy Spirit. When the emphasis of your spiritual life is "going to church" and does not include reading/studying/ meditating/living The Word; The Bible; and praying, worshipping, and praising God--in order that He be glorified in and through your life--then you are missing the whole point of being The CHURCH. I left the Catholic church years ago, when Holy Spirit began to open my eyes to conflicts of what the Word of God says vs. what the Roman Catholic Church teaches and does.
