Katie. You, and others like you, are obviously not who I am referring to. I am talking about people who CAN get vaccinated and decide not to and decide not to vaccinate their children due to believing delusional BS. I feel like you have dealt with this a lot, and this Is a frustration for you; I can relate to that with other situations/convos. I am sorry that my words have had any negative effect on your feelings. There are people in my family who have health conditions that have prevented them from being able to get the covid vaccine due to the TYPE of vaccine that it is. Again I apologize and I hope you're doing well. I will preface this point going forward when I discuss anti vaxers and my distain for them. I will pin this comment so others understand this too.

My mom is one of those who can't because of not just a condition but also an allergy. We all around her have them because we don't want to risk giving her ANYTHING, and we will not let any worker or family in the home without one who absolutely can and just chooses not to, and are strait forward about it. Those like you those like my mother are not where the gripe is. We are not all under one health umbrella. It's people who lie or spread disinformation to the public. There are many vaccines that are a choice.. flu, COVID, pneumonia, hpv, etc. and others that are mandatory for medical field, military, etc... so long as we are aware of the risks and what to do to protect people like you, like my mother then make the choice that you prefer. Working with the disabled and elderly it's angering to hear people spread deliberate medical disinformation that can harm so many people. I'm sorry you get targeted by people that make assumptions, social media has made a lot more of them over the past decade and I hope you are able to live a full life.

There's a difference between an anti-vaxxer and someone who can't have vaccines although someone who can't have vaccines can still be an anti-vaxxer and anti-vaxxers frequently use the excuse that they can't have vaccines. It seems like someone who can't have vaccines would be understanding of the disdain for anti-vaxxers since herd immunity is extremely important.

EXACTLY. A lot of those illnesses are (mostly) gone from the US, but they can be and are brought in from countries that don’t have a strong vaccine infrastructure. Maybe MY kid would be fine if she were exposed without being vaccinated, but her friend with the compromised immune system might not be, and I’d sure feel like a piece of trash if I had the opportunity to prevent harm to a vulnerable child and chose not to.

Are they okay with antibiotics? Because that was pretty much the same thing happening. My grandma got tuberculosis. Then antibiotics happened and she was cured. No more tuberculosis in Sweden. Why is that okay and vaccines not? Is it just because you don't have to get sick first?

I for one am DELIGHTED that I never got smallpox, because it was eradicated before I was born. Few other viruses have been as destructive to human life and wellbeing as smallpox. And again, it took vaccines to eradicate it. I’m not yearning for “the good old days.” People go on and on about “don’t make me put this in my body,” YEAH! Don’t spread your germs onto me, you walking Petri dish! If you are intent on not getting vaccinated when it is otherwise medically safe for you to do so, live in the woods. Live in total isolation, and I’m not kidding. Stay away from the rest of us who want to stay healthy and want to keep our vulnerable parents and children alive. And children have a right to life and health. Their parents don’t own their bodies. THEY own their bodies, and it is cruel neglect to not protect them from disease. It is also cruel and psychopathic behavior to not care what other children get sick or permanently disabled or die because your child spread germs onto them.

@@CainXVII honestly? Probably. People are very stupid, and I mean that in the factual sense. They get mad about government safety net programs to keep people from starving to death on the street, but as soon as they need it, they’re mad it’s not more (rightly so). They dont want OSHA protections in the workplace, right up until they almost die at work due to management neglecting safety and then they’re mad. They’ll go and play with poisonous animals, and then scream for help when they get hurt. People hate precautions and seem widely incapable of connecting cause and effect. They want help when they’re in pain, and even then many still don’t understand cause and effect.

Listening to that made me so sad and angry. 🤬 ETA: to my knowledge, where I live (the Netherlands) naturopaths and other altmed practitioners aren't considered medical doctors. For that you'll have to graduate medical school and are register with the relevant agency. There's probably some MDs that went altmed who would be able to use the title, but the folks who got some naturopathic-type schooling shouldn't. Agreed. I like how Erin Bies handles it on her lives. She’s like, “Hang on, I have to parent,” to the audience, and then she takes a minute to let her kid know she’s on a live, hear what they came in for, and either handle the issue (when it’s like, “Do you know where my sweatshirt is?”) or let them know when they can talk about it together. It’s pretty wholesome, especially since she’s always complimenting them or telling them she loves them before they leave the room.

As a single mom of an intellectually disabled child and whose ex was a man baby who was with my child and me until my child was 11, can confirm that working and trying to raise children sucks. I decided NOT to raise one of my children and it wasn’t the intellectually disabled one. It was the man baby one. It was much easier to raise my actual child when the man baby left. Also, the autism/vaccine thing: even if it was true that vaccines cause autism, and it isn’t, I’d rather have a live autistic child than a child dead or permanently injured of a preventable disease.

As someone who is autistic, I understand that we as autistic people can be hard to deal with. Meltdowns aren’t fun, and we very often have trouble adopting life skills in some form or another, but if you truly care about your autistic child, you will do everything you can in order to get them the support they need to be their best selves. People with autism aren’t “lost causes”. All these fearful moms act like autism is always going to be the kind that is on the extreme end of the spectrum, which is objectively more challenging than someone who is not, but God forbid these moms are forced to put more effort into raising their kids. God *forbid* 🙄 God forbid they won’t be allowed to do the bare minimum and skate on by.

Honestly this! My eldest and my middle have ASD. My middle has a lot of additional needs that means I am "technically" his registered carer, but it's genetic because I have ADHD. I can tell you now, having a child with autism is nothing near having a child die from a disease that could of be prevented or, god forbid, cause the death of another child bc they were too young to have the vaccine etc. And, quite frankly, as a neurodivergent person, it's insulting that people would rather risk that than have a neurodivergent child.

Poop particles enter the air every time you poop in your toilet and then flush. The rush of water causes an aerosolizing effect on what is in the toilet bowl, and unless you have the lid down, that stuff is in your breathing air. I've known this since I was 13, when I read a comedic article published in the late 80s that discussed how the only way to truly clean your toilet seat is to set it on fire, and I guess the article author set his own toilet on fire. It was good journalism for just a silly joke premise, tbh . Dave Barry is the writer in question, he's honestly an icon of satirical writing (in print). The times we have gone to visit she always asks to tag along with my husband and I when we go to the store and specifically asks if she can go alone with us without any other siblings. When she does tag along she is so sweet and she holds my hand on her own even though the last time we went I thought she was at the age where most kids don't like doing that. She even sits on my lap when we are just at their home and gets upset if the next youngest takes her spot with me. It breaks my heart because I feel like she never really got to feel like a child since she has to be the maternal figure for the younger siblings while her mom is taking care of the next baby. Don't get me wrong my bro and sister in law are wonderful parents who do their best to provide a good home, but I feel like they're just misguided by the IBLP and they believe they are doing what God has called for.

41:16 I was just diagnosed with ADHD a year ago! Learning how to stop masking is too real, but it helps so much knowing what’s actually going on. Get actual diagnoses from doctors, y’all! Even if you’re wary of treating with medication, having an actual, professional confirmation of what you may have going on in your brain helps so much. Knowledge is power.

Imagine being her kid sitting outside the door waiting what would feel like eternity even for an adult bc she talks SO MUCH, and listening to your mom repeat over and over about how important it is to serve others, meanwhile you’re hungry and bored and the kitchen is on fire probably🤣 Her kids would be better supervised if she went off to a regular job and they had a nanny or babysitter🥴

36:13 - Just wanted to clarify that naturopaths are not medical doctors and they do not attend medical school (though they would like you to think they do). Their degree is an ND and their schooling is entirely unregulated and largely unscientific. In the United States, only a person with an M.D. or a D.O. degree are allowed to practice as physicians and both attend medical school.

Don’t dress like a pirate that’s cringe. Walk everywhere! Sometimes you have to get a little bit away from the craziness to be able to even get an Uber. Also, share your location with your friends because you most likely won’t be able to have cell service if you are on Bayshore. Also, being on Bayshore is way better than being downtown. Lol. Make sure you eat a big breakfast and drink a lot of water. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

"PROVEN vax" is a great disclaimer, and opens healthy dialogue imo. For example, most people don't even realize there's different vax technologies, even for the same group of illnesses. Or that a seemingly experimental vax technology can be based on 20 years of research and study. But the thing that annoyed me the most over the past 4 years is that quality discussion and critique about vax got buried under the hysteria.
