Vitamix sells the FoodCycler, which is an awesome way to chop and dehydrate kitchen scraps without composting. Great for an apartment! I actually use the refuse that comes out of mine in my veggie garden.

That's great, thank you for sharing! We've switched to a composting service since I made this video and have been loving it - they just pick up our food scraps twice a month in a sealable container and replace it with a fresh one.

I'm poor af, but periodically I'll go to Dollar Tree and see what I can get there. Recently bought 3 large mason-type of jars with the lids for my legumes & beans, and a large pizza pan that I use to sort them and a ramekin so that I can steam homemade mug cakes without using the microwave. I've been saving all of my glass jars as well and have been using those for food storage instead of re-using the plastic food containers. I was just even looking at the spatula I have and thinking that I need to get a metal one. I'm slowly but surely changing things up!

3. You pay $23 for a 0% superfatted soap? 😳 What do you do with the stickers or tags on fruit and veggies?
@PlantsNotPlastic3 жыл бұрын
Is that expensive? I don't know very much about soap but we love this bar and have tried a bunch of other types of dish soap (liquid, bar, powder, etc.) and keep coming back to this one. Stickers and tags end up in our trash - we minimize waste as much as possible in our kitchen, and it's a constant learning process, but some trash is still inevitable 😣

@@PlantsNotPlastic I make my own soap so all soap over $4 for a bar, maybe $8 for a double sized one like that, seems outrageous to me. I have ended up getting some free fat/oil so that halved my costs. I don't need anything fancy, just something my skin loves. Now we all need someone that can turn plastic in to fuel in our area. Then fuel instead of plastic trash.
