TOP "ZX SPECTRUM 128K AY" GAME MUSIC - 2.5 HOURS!

Well after the positive response I got from my Amiga game music marathon video ( • TOP AMIGA A500 GAME MU... ), I knew one day I would compose a ZX Spectrum game music video to follow it, and now here it is, my top 42 favourite 128k Spectrum game music tunes,...it was going to be 40 but I found two more I liked :-D
I hope you enjoy this video as it took much editing and because I only use real hardware it took many hours of loading the games in.

Thanks for posting. That Swiv tune at 3:13 made by "Sound Images" is a real curiosity. It's like a tone-deaf tribute to Tim Follin with lots of bum notes and poor construction BUT whoever made it clearly had access to or was able to copy the highly complicated waveforms and arpeggios that were Tim's trademark. Tim made the AY sing. Whoever this is merely made it warble. Nevertheless, it can't have been easy. Stolen driver? No such thing as a sequencer/tracker then.

You're right there, it's remarkably shit composing. It sounds like a guitar player when they're checking a cable or something and just inattentively hitting a few notes by feel, not even thinking about it as music.

I used to type in the cheat mode so I could reach level 3 of Agent X II just to listen to the music. So many people must have missed out because they couldn't get to level 3.

@@ZEUSDAZ Hey! I saw my comment from 7 years ago. Yeah back then I guess I didn't know there was a big difference between 48k beeper that quite honestly sucked and the 128k AY. Now SID and NES are still my favorites when it comes to 8bit music, but man does AY sound great! I've heard some really awesome 128k music over the years

Just listened to that, yep certainly sounds like it "in places" but only a couple of chords, this game has taken those couple of chords and really made the tune It's own extending it hugely.

Only the beginning which is obvious, I don't hear any similarity after the first few chords play, once the game version gets into the main part I don't hear anything the same on the record version. For instance, where on the record is this bit of this ZX version?! 2:22:28
