I can't say anything about the specific metro line in the video. But Metros in general have been a massive succes most places where they are built, especially in Copenhagen where I lived for a while. They had 2 min interval, fully automated, no drivers, 24-7, 10 min SLA humans on standby if stuff fails and it actually works well to move millions of people. Far far better than any busses, far better than S-trains above ground and on par with the speed a taxi would take you, include into the airport. Worth every damn penny for that metro system at least.

I was recently in Mumbai visiting family, and the 2 projects mentioned at 5:45 are absolute game changers. The Navi Mumbai housing development is already helping with relieving congestion in Mumbai, and the 2nd airport will be especially useful for that same reason, just like New York's airport renovation. Also while the longer bridge between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai is great for addressing traffic on the roads, there is also a railway line under construction next to the original bridge, which would be much more effective if completed, rather than simply adding extra highway lanes Also these projects would be useful not just for relieving congestion, but for the economy as well. India's biggest need as a country is better infrastructure, such as housing and transportation

The nuclear power plant is not a megaproject, but a rather typical solution, which indirectly confirms the fact that the main operator controls almost 100 GW of power. And the fact that the station is several times more expensive than similar projects should not put it in the first place in the rating, but raise logical questions. For example, who will pay for the overexpenditure, how much will the kW produced at this station cost, and so on
@JP_TaVeryMuch6 ай бұрын
3:52 Unfortunately, you skipped over the pun embedded in "Mainhattan." The proper, full title of the city is Frankfort-am-Main ~furt being a ford in a river and Main being the name of the river running through the city. Add in the skyscrapers of the financial district and you have MaInhattan.

Q: Is EVERYONE in Saudi and Dubai rich beyond our wildest imaginations? And if so, wouldn't that mean that by their own standards, no one is rich? I'd hazard to wager that about 99% of the viewing audience may never afford stepping foot in any of those destination points, let alone actually enjoy them. America is among the top 5-ish wealthiest nations on the planet and even here, the demographics simply could not sustain such a flamboyant lifestyle. These places are the things dreams are made of but regrettably, for most of us, that is all they will remain. So then, back to my original question... but rephrased just a little bit... exactly which demographic is targeted to lavish such luxury on and is there enough of that demographic to sustain these extravagant endeavors? Surely there are not 100's of millions of millionaires in the world with cash burning through their pockets just to afford the price of admission to these places. In fact, the number is just north of 20 million. But not 100's. the countries with the most millionaires are, in rank order, the United States, Japan, Germany and China. 3 of the 4 are part of western culture. Anathema to middle eastern culture. Overall, that one disparity alone will severely limit the required tourism to sustain these projects. Whilst the remaining eastern nation has its own issues relating to religious practices that may eventually become an issue as well. Whilst there will be many who do partake in life's finer side, relatively speaking, it won't be enough to make a drop in the bucket. So then, either EVERYONE there is rich beyond our wildest imaginations or, this is going t be the biggest folly in the history of the world. We all depend on each other in one way or another. But when the price of that dependency becomes unaffordable, those bonds will become frayed between the "have's" and the "have nots". Then, the only thing that will change is that the "have's" will also, eventually become "have nots". Welcome to the real world.

Samsung $25B plant is misleading - It is just one of 50 megaprojects, where private companies use the CHIPS act of 2020 to build semi-conductor factories in the US. Total, the 50 projects currently cover $450B worth of private investments with gvt subsidies - Samsung got $6B roughly for their $25B factory here. But TSMC are building one too for $40B and that one is (imho could be wrong) more important, since they make the small NM wafers for all the others (NV, Intel, etc) for high CPU/GPUs.

Can you please give Ads their own video chapter? I have no problem with ads, just don't want them integrated into the "LaGuardia airport" chapter. Love the vids!

You forgot the ITER facility, which is supposed to enter experimental phase next year, with a total estimated cost between 25 and 65 billion dollars, depending on sources

MegaBuilds is such a bad name, way too generic (please switch it back to Top Luxury) Edit: People have been replying saying that both names are generic which I agree to but MegaBuilds is still worse which was my point. This post is very contrevertial so pease stop attacking me in the reply section.

Your video is misleading about America a small project for US cost 10 times more than India and Soudi araibia for example a small bridge like this would cost just over 100 million and a small refb maybe 50 million not 8billion

If your Georgia map is accurate, the power plant is on the eastern edge of the state. Also if the had designed the Gordie Howe Bridge to go perpendicular across the Detroit River instead of diagonal it would have been shorter
