I (KB) had a major high school crush on a girl who I lived in the same city with (OB), almost 20 years ago. After moving halfway around the world shortly after, we connected with each other on AIM and couldn't stop talking to each other. During our conversations, swapping songs and playing games / riddles were a part of the connection we had. I sent the first 24 seconds of this song as a mystery "gift" to her at the time and promised her that one day i'd tell her what song it was (the days long before Shazam). At the time, I frequently thought of ways we would someday be reunited where she'd be in some random place and the song randomly surprised her as it came on, and as she freezes and realizes who's there.... .... but we're both married now. To people we've found where we live, and with our own kids. Some things, you cherish for the role they played in your life at the time. This song is a timeless reminder to me for an alternate reality that might have been.
