Looking for a fun outdoor activity? Perhaps a short, yet unique, adventure with mountain views? Well you're in luck because I'm back with another hike!
The Topanga Lookout (or overlook) is a short 2 mile out and back trail in the Santa Monica Mountains just outside Los Angeles. What makes it special? The trail leads to a few large concrete platforms that give a sweeping view of the surrounding mountains (and more on clear days). This hike is worth it for the view alone, but people have also turned the platforms into giant canvasses for some pretty cool graffiti art.
Even the drive up to the trailhead is an experience! The winding mountain roads are littered with giant houses and more likely than not you'll be passed by a fancy (fast) car out for a drive.
Important Hike Information:
🌲 Address for Trailhead: 23300 Saddle Peak Rd, Calabasas, CA 91302
🚗 Parking: Trailhead only has ~3 official parking spots but there is a lot of street parking available nearby.
🐕🦺 Dogs: I saw dogs!
🌻 Difficulty: The trail is half paved, half dirt. Its a bit steep going up to the platform but is overall an easy hike.
