@@mxcaulxy9479 I haven't tested the engine power on the dyno yet ... but I also have an open air filter now I guess the engine puts out between 190 or 200 horse power ... it pulls me very hard in second gear... And there are no reliability problems because the software I installed is very reliable for this engine, and I have been with this software for almost a year.

@@mearaniva i enjoy the 1.8Tsi more because of the wonderful sound! and it pulls better than Diesel up to 130 i think. Both are very enjoyable from a driving perspective, but i think the Gas one is more fun. My gf just cannot go slow :D 170km/h lfaster than you can say "lets go" i mean....we drive them daily and we dont even recognize we have 100+ km/h in! We have to force ourselves to go slower so we dont get fines ect.

great car and great engine. have the a similar setup on my car, octavia 3 with 1.8 tsi 180, but manual. a sweet engine, but could do with a bit of tuning, since from factory it's setup for low fuel consumption and not for sporting abilities. even so, it does go very well, but you do feel it's hampered artificially by that 250nm figure.

The gearbox is the weak point. They used a MQ250/DQ200 which are rated for 250 Nm. Otherwise the engine can produce over 300 Nm. That said, these engines are underrated from factory and have a bit more power in reality. I put mine on a dyno and it produced 200 HP/280 Nm in stock form.

@@Alexandru-T. yes, the gearbox is the weak link, even though the manual can more easily take over 250nm, moreso than the dsg which is actually quite hard limited at 250nm and it's also not very reliable. i dynoed mine and i got 175hp and 260nm.

I have Octavia with same engine but manual and i am running for maximum 7L/100km with cruise control on highway 140km/h. With my driving style am around 6-6,5L/100km normally :) It suprised me, i thought it will consume a little bit more.

I dont get one thing. In my country FR is a sporty packet what contains for example little bit diferent front bumper and fake difuser at the back. But in UK, they just put logo "FR" but outside.. there is no any diference... 7:01 0-100? It have to be remaped. Anyway i was expecting better eff on higher gears. 50-90 or 80-120 drives like avarage diesel with around 130hp

I get 6.8- 7s in my 175 hp E90 2.0 turbodiesel, and this car gets 5.8 - 6s 60 - 120 km/h. So DEFINETLY a 130 hp diesel car doesn't beat this Seat FR since it is faster than a 320d N47 E90 by a decent shot.

@@Johnny24rs neah, he's just probably read somewhere cause it is all over the internet that 1.8 TSI is eating oil, and generalizing without knowing the actual details. It is quite bad frankly for the other generations of engines because of this stigma is automatically associated with them also. And gen 3 is actually a fine engine indeed. Extremely smooth, linear power, very little lag, much better fuel consumption than gen 2, it also comes with MPI injection, no issues with the timing chain anymore, revised pistons, rings, a lot and a lot of improvements which actually make up for a good engine. Sure, it still isn't as bulletproof as a Honda engine, but it's much much better than the disaster that gen 2 was.

yes, because it's very detuned from factory. this should do 200 and 320nm easily, but they (vag) have detuned it for fuel economy and parity with the 2.0 tdi 184hp.
