Extra fact about the Rolls Royce logo dissapearing: it's a safety feature, not against theft, but against getting impaled by the thing when the owners chauffeur runs you over :D That, as in, pedestrian safety is also the reason why cars no longer have hood ornaments like the old days, and why the rare exceptions are foldable, retractable or just easily breakable.

The video starts with the fake myth of Ferrari and Porsche logo connection.... Great. Francesco Baracca served in the cavalry in 1909 in the 2nd regiment Piemonte Reale that had the prancing horse as harlad since its foundation in 1692. Originally the horse was silver with a red background. When Baracca entered in the aviation service during WW1, the pilots were allowed to use a recognition symbol on their planes, Baracca chosen the horse of his former regiment and coulored it in black to make the horse more visible on plane's livery (that was grey). In april 1918 in a letter to his mom motivated the choice of his symbol:" I will send you a photo of me riding a horse and in the meantime I will send you the pictuee with the machine and the horse on it, the coat of the Piemonte Reale.". In 1923 Enzo Ferrari won a race in Ravenna and met Baracca's parents. They gave him the symbol of his son as lucky charm. In fact when Enzo will open his racing team Scuderia Ferrari used that symbol as the logo. The black prancing horse will be in a yellow background, colour of Modena, the city where Ferrari lived and created its car company. In 1933 the 4th Stormo Amedeo d'Aosta, the elite squadron of the Italian Air Force, adopted the black prancing horse and then spreaded in the air force.

Here's an Aston Martin badge fact that I expected to see but I am going to share anyways: Aston badges have different fill color behind "ASTON MARTIN" letters, depending on which car you get: green is reserved for more base model cars, black is for the fastest models, and red is reserved for their special models, including Zagatos! The policy has loosened up over the years (Cygnet has a black badge for some odd reason?), but it stayed true for a while. And another one: in 2016 BMW in Russia ran an ad campaign that allowed BMW's to drive through tolls for free. It became very popular and it is also common here to cover number plates to avoid toll fees, so people started covering their badges with BMW ones. Best ad move ever.

Fuji Heavy Industries didn’t exactly change their entire corporate name to Subaru. That name started out as a brand name for the automobile manufacturing side of their business. The word Subaru also means Unite in Japanese. They also produce aircraft parts. In fact their aircraft division has roots to the Nakajima aircraft manufacturer before the end of WWII. Nakajima produced several war planes for the Japanese military before and during the war. Including the B5N “Kate” torpedo bomber and the KI-43 “Oscar” fighter. After the war, the merger of the 6 companies in 1953 created opportunities with multiple industrial businesses markets, but of course the most well known and widely recognized is their cars.
