Simply wonderful and reminds me so much of home. Even though I'm not from the Czech Republic I grew up near its border in Germany, Saxony, and when I hear Vlatava or Moldau I can see the river (even though I think of the river Elbe) the mountains, forests and castles in my head and I really get kind of homesick. It is the most beautiful piece of music ever written. Thank you so much for uploading this.

Yes. I live in Santiago de Chile now. Unfortunately it is just like any other big big city. Smog, too many people, too many cars and too few parks and trees.. all in all not very beautiful :(

You don't know the best natural beauty of Chile. Santiago like many capitals are polluted, smog and like many capitals full of people. Go, visit the south or north of the country and you will find fresh air, hospitable people, wonderful natural landscapes. You will not find in Chile huge artistic and old buildings, palaces, churches.

There is a statue of Smetena in Prague overlooking the Vltava. Street musicians often play there and there is a nearby cafe.
I am proud of him as slovak.. Because we slovak people grew up on czech comedies and old school actors and comedians, but is good to listen also some nice music from czech composers as Dvořák and Smetana. The other great czech composers were Leoš Janáček, Jozef Suk, Bohuslav Martinu. Leoš Janáček was Dvořák´s friend, he inluenced him to notice moravian folk music. Jozef Suk was Dvořák´s pupil and son in law. Someone wrote Dvořák´s daughter Otilie also composed.

The title of this performance would indicate that much of Smetana's music can be heard here. In fact ist is based on one monumental piece - Ma Vlast (My homeland) a tone poem about his country and the beautify of things in it. OR - perhaps this is the only piece he wrote that is worthy of being heard... What is the answer? In any case, thank you for posting this beautiful piece in it's entirety.
