Topcon Hybrid setup and configuration

hi there, So I have some questions regarding the data collector of a topcon machine, and at this moment I don't have he data collector which the machine is not functioning as I cant work without the data collector, so what I'm asking about is if is there a way to use the computer to collect the data from it. or using a PC pocket like the HP iPAK. I'm still trying to figure thing out, but I would love to have an advice if possible. thank you,

I tried following your video in the new 7.3 version and everything goes great until I try and store the 1st control point. It keeps asking for coordinates of that point. I have no preexisting control or coordinates, I just want to use the GPS date to localize

There is no difference in this workflow since this video came out. Currently on 7.3.1 it still works the same way. Make sure you have a coordinate system set upon starting the job (it cannot say NONE). As the coordinates are fed to the robot by the ground/grid coordinates of the GPS.

We just got a Sokkia GRX3 I think it’s the same unit at the VR. We’re running Carlson Survey CE. If I’m working in the deep woods is there a different setting I should be turning on to make it work better In the woods. Thanks

Just make sure you are setting all the available satellites to ON in the "GPS Rover/Receiver/Advanced/Configure Constellations" section. This is where you can turn ON the GALILEO and BEIDOU satellite tracking option (isn't ON by default!). Also, if you are connecting to a RTN, make sure you can connect to a base/mount point that also broadcasts the GALILEO and BEIDOU corrections. As typically most only do the good old GPS+GLONASS only...

I dont get an image when i use this program how did you get an image to display ?

Map properties then backgrounds and then select "Bing Hybrid" for online map source.

@@DiCarloTV that worked thanks, I dont suppose you also know ----- when i am in survey and i go to save a location it asks me everytime to confirm the antenna setup, i am aware there is a way to stop this becuase my other tablet does it but this one is set up different do you know how to stop it asking me eveytime i want to save a location..... thanks again

I don't. As I operate on almost the flattest part of the eastern US (close to zero ft/m over sea level). But anywhere else you should. You are correct!

Of course. Just download MAGNET Field from Topcon (sign up for a free account and then the download will be available). It installs in DEMO mode which also includes the simulator!
