Meaning you would break stuff if you did make it harder for yourself? I don't think any well adjusted person breaks stuff just because they fail to beat a boss in a video game. If they do they need proper anger management. I'm one of the hardcore players who does challenge runs and have never ever used summons in any From Software game. There has been times I have been stuck at a boss for hours, but I just never get angry or frustrated. I'm just focused on learning the fight, make mental notes, okay i should do that instead of this and just go again. I just don't understand getting angry while playing a video game when you already know you're gonna die a lot. Getting frustrated at a video game to the point of breaking stuff is wild to me. The only time I have shown anger was when i was a little kid while playing FIFA and bang my desk with my palm, as a grown man I just swear out loud at worst. Idk, if someone is getting angry and breaking stuff playing these games, it is a sign that they should be doing something else with their lives, because clearly they have issues. Best case scenario is that they have never been socialized properly as a kid. At the end of the day it is a grown adult having a temper tantrum like a 5 year old.

The problem with the bosses, is that they require you to think as fast as they can attack you. Most ppl can, but the controls are slower than your mind. So ppl legit dodge, block, and attack when they should, but the game just has your char sit there like **^&$&^%^$^%#$#&***(.

Unless you're using a very laggy wireless controller, this is not the case at all. Your hands might be slower than your brain, but the inputs are registered as soon as you push a button and the animations have very, very few start-up frames for things like dodges. Weapons are different, they have different action frames depending on weight class. Also, if you spam buttons mid-animation, you've already lost. The games have always buffered actions for multiple button presses, this is a feature of souls games that incentivizes calm and precise reactions and not panic spamming.

It's most likely that they are reacting too late to the attack rather than actually reacting in time. It's not like you are required to dodge the exact frame the attack hurtbox hits you, you got some leeway to dodge earlier. It's easier to realize that these bosses can also be done No-Hit SL1, meaning that all the attacks can be dodged (you find out how by trial and patience). It's a puzzle and a dance. Once you are in the rhythm you don't need reaction speed, only timing.

I'm by no means an elden ring expert here, but I don't understand why people don't use shields more often. If I mistime a dodge roll, me holding the shield up will atleast negate some damage and let me live to see another wave of attacks. I also use the stamina buffs in my mixed flask to compemsate for losing lots of stamina when I have to block. But again, i'm no expert. Lol

You know while I do love the Fromsoft games. I find myself enjoying the less punishing souls-like games much more. Games like Mortal Shell, Remnant, Lords of the Fallen (2023), etc. Are games that may not be as difficult but succeed in still posing challenges and don't make you feel stuck on a boss for ridoculous amounts of time. Dying to the same enemy 100+ times is not fun at all. And these bosses are getting so ridiculous the margin for error is microscopic. Sure the feeling of beating these bosses are the pinnacle of gaming euphoria. But I find myself having more fun and enjoyment with the casual souls-like titles.
