So I worked for the company (Arbiter) that supplied all the drum gear for this and I spent 2 days with them at the studio helping Jezza prepare and also setup his kit for him. To answer some questions: 1. Yes he was really bad, it took over an hour and about 20-30 runs through the song to get enough footage, but he had only had a handful of lessons and he was nervous as hell. I was behind the stage shouting counts to try and keep him in time!! 2. Yes the kick drums are setup the wrong way, that’s how he wanted them. 3. Hammond is a really solid bass player. 4. James May is a great Pianist. It was a brilliant couple of days and they were all really nice people.

2023 And I'm gonna say it... Nothing the BBC's "New" Top Gear could beat those three, I mean c'mon look at how they worked together there's never gonna be a group of people who work so perfectly together in any format from car reviews to cooking to gardening to music Jeremey James and Richard were truly fantastic to watch and I'm sorry but this is what made us fall in love with Top Gear it was never again the cars it's about those three as proven here. Time and time again we enjoy anything and everything they're apart of.

Apart from Jeremy fucking up the beat by going too fast it's actually quite good.

If you read his book "The world according to Clarkson" (i don't remember which part though, there are three) there is a piece when he says that it was the producers' idea and he barely knew how to play the drums. Also that he chose this song because it seemed relatively easy and devoid of drum fills.
