I didn't know until two days ago that such a car existed. I saw one near Knutsford in the UK, after looking at a TESLA Model 3 LHD in the TESLA town centre showroom. When I saw the Rolls Royce front end and the fact that it was an SUV, I could hardly believe it. It is undoubtedly the ugliest SUV I have ever seen (and that includes the Porche SUV that I previously thought was the ugliest). The "old" Rolls Royce company would N E V E R have entertained such a car. It's proportions are completely insane and demeans the RR badge.

Truly the epitome of SUV's. I recall an ad campaign for RR years ago. The ad man said " So fine and quiet a ride, all you hear at 60 mph is the clock ticking"; The chief engineer slammed his hand on the table and said, " I've been trying to quiet that noise for years and you had to make mention of it". Like I suspect a lot of you, I've been following Chris Harris across platforms and companies for a long time, and it really pleases me to see this man retained the same intelligent, sobering and real life view on things (goddamn SUV's I'll have my estate cars thank you very much). I remember when he claimed he would probably never get on a show like Top Gear, and look at him now. I'm so glad they acknowledge his values and just let him be himself, not supercut to smithereens or forced into making over the top one-liners when his opinions happen more nuanced. I really can't quite put into words why his reviews and other content are so valuable to watch, they really give me an understanding of the cars he reviews and a feel of them, while at the same time he possesses really deep knowledge about the stuff he speaks on. So thank you Chris Harris and thanks Top Gear for acknowledging one of the true greats, and not in the least for keeping him on the show whilst replacing the other two presenters. Rolls Royce cars have never been lookers. The whole point about the Rolls for me is that you should never sacrifice class for good looks. That's the class angle. For me, I'm glad they haven't sold their soul. I think it is beautiful.

I’m with you Michael Orr. I love it BECAUSE it is so ugly. Like the G-Wagon, or the old Jeep Grand Wagoneer. (Or, the Family Truckster from National Lampoon’s Vacation, or the Canyonero from The Simpson’s.) It looks like a refrigerator on wheels that could drive through a brick wall. Although, for $400k, you’d better hope those are some soft bricks.

You can really tell when there's passion involved, as opposed to economical considerations. This Rolls is made because it sells, it's made because it will attract people, in spite of it being just lackluster and soulless. It feels to me like a novice actor compared to a stellar cast. It tries to be sincere, and makes the best with what it's got, but compared to the old elite, it inevitably falls short. They just kept the trademark in hopes of salvation.

This "isolation chamber" of an SUV seems to have a similar silhouette with the "traditional London cab". I'm not sure I'd like to spend upwards of GBP300,000.00 on a single vehicle that might be mistaken for a London cab. Personally though I'd rather have a fully loaded Bentley Bentayga instead of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
