I'm from Peru and I can confirm this piece of crap could be seen on the wild around 1998/99 here. I remember seeing the poor souls getting hyped for this on my local smugglers market while I was shopping for Marvel vs. Capcom 1 for DC.

Man I love the fact that people actually went through the trouble of making this a reality. whether out of admiration for the original game or to make a quick buck, i still admire these bootleg games knowing that it was probably just some random dudes in a shed that made them. I remember as a kid buying a bootleg tekken 4 game for the ps1 over in Iran and it was literally bloody roar with tekken 4 in the game's title card, makes me laugh so much knowing that some kids wouldn't have known and would've been so confused

Actually SF Alpha Chun Li was playable on Xmen Vs Street Fighter. It was possible by doing the random select by highlighting Wolverine then holding Start+Back+Down and luckily choosing Chun Li

I know I should be shocked by the fact that an SNES bootleg of X-Men vs Street Fighter even exist, but honestly I'm more surprised by the fact that there's a Soul Edge vs. Samurai Spirits bootleg game exists. The only full crossover we have between these two franchises, and it's a bootleg... And yes, I know Haohmaru is in Soul Calibur 6, no need to inform me.

I got it working on an emulator. I looked at my SNES rom collection and I had 2 versions of the game. One named X-Men vs Street Fighter (Unl) and one named X-Men vs Street Fighter (Unl) [f1]. The second one worked on SNES9x

It doesn't look like this port uses the oficial Street Fighter 2 engine, but just the music engine. That's pretty normal on those pirated SNES games, like Disney's Bonkers sound engine in A Bugs Life/Chip and Dale/Pikachu/Digimon bootlegs.

I've got the physical cartridge. It's not bad for it being cobbled together on a system that was never meant to run something like this. It's probably made my a small team of people who didn't have the experience to take advantage of the snes with their coding or utilize extra chipset features of carts like Street Fighter Alpha.

@@EtherBoo Street Fighter IV and Yoko Soft's Street Fighter 2: World Warrior are pretty decent. I mean, if you want to play 8-bit fighting games you're probably better off playing Battle Arena Toshinden for the Gameboy, Fatal Fury Special on the Game Gear or Street Fighter Alpha on the GBC. But these bootlegs are decent, imo. ^_^

@@st1ka thanks. I get a weird enjoyment out of playing demade games. The FF7 NES port being a prime example; I love seeing someone creatively scale things down. The best example being SFA2 on Game Boy Color. I just know very little about the bootleg scene though and most seem to play terribly.

@@EtherBoo Oh if you like demakes than I really recommend Battle Arena Toshinden for the original Gameboy. The game Gear also received Samurai Shodown and Fatal Fury Special and they're surprisingly good. As for good bootleg fighting games, that's a tad more difficult, I haven't played most of them in ages. I had actually forgotten most about them before I started doing these videos.
