In modern days we read about 2 ( Two ) great traditional architects Vishwakarma and Maya, who have handed down the Sacred Vastu Gyan. The Vastu Vidya in its teachings describes inter-alia the use of Vastu principles for constructions of buildings etc, township plannings, dams, forestry etc. vis a vis selection of sites, testing of soils, location of cardinal points astronomically & astrologically. The Panch Bhoot पंच भूत principle is Prioritised in VASTU with a view of bringing balance and harmony between man and the nature. Bring Prosperity and happiness and mental peace. The 5 basic elements have a direct impact on life. The term Vastu gets its meanings differently by different authors. The ROOT word VAS वास (meaning to DWELL) is the foundation of the word VASTU. Through which the cosmic influence of Sun light, heat, energy/magnetic field, directions of wind and influence of planets are guaged. Vastu Purush Mandal (geometrical ground plan) is viewed as an experimental science vis a vis practical relevance. Having said that, it is also a fact that environmental degradation is witnessed now a days which has emerged because of fragmentation of Vastu principles.( Being used in bits & Pieces). You may find even in your nearby, the new meanings for Vastu where the fundamental purpose is removed by varied ritualism fashioned to satisfy ourselves.
