This film was great. The CGI is not as bad as people act. Perhaps the explosions but a lot of films had that weird explosion effect but the Hulk looked decent. I like all Hulk films. and the shows. I'm excited for the Abomination. Shame this film never had a sequel. It had a decent Bruce, Hulk Betty, and it went into Bruce's relationship with his father unlike the others.

There’s something about how he moves around 0:13 that feels almost childlike and innocent, backing away from a foreign force that’s antagonising him. His stumbling creates this very nascent aura, clouding his judgement with pure adrenaline. His facial expressions at 1:35 while not in clear view give the implication that he’s fearful of his own life despite being a gamma-charged titan. Stuff like that makes me feel like watching this movie as it looks like it shows the opposite side of being an all-powerful monster, that his mere existence is treated as a threat to society when in reality he just wants to be left in peace without being constantly ostracised.

Don't care what anyone says... imo this is a great scene. The most realistic and true-to-the-spirit of the comics depiction of any marvel character ever. Yes he's a little too large, but his strength is showcased perfectly without being over the top, and his movements are excellently rendered. And him jumping away in the distance is a wonderful touch. Watching this scene is like reading the comics, at least the ones I grew up with anyway.

@@kaybiggI did some research and found that the tanks used here were made in the image of the M1 Abrams. However, the size is an issue. With the M1 stated to be 8 ft in height, it doesn't add up seeing how the Hulk towers over it. The Hulk is about twice as tall as the tank and is canonically supposed to be 7-8ft in height. And since the real, "bigger" M1 is about 54 tons in weight, it can be assumed that the tank that was thrown was significantly lighter. The Burj Khalifa is about 800 meters and at just 800 meters from the ground, the view from the top makes vehicles in the highway look almost non-existent and for a miniature M1 Abrams, it wouldn't be too different. And we're talking just 800 meters. The tank that crashed into the dune looked quite big still, before it got buried in sand which means that the tank didn't travel too far. Having said that, I'm not even sure the tank travelled 800 meters. I'm not a mathematician but according to similar topics, to get the distance with a given time of 5 seconds, it usually equates to a little over 300 meters. But at the end of the day, this isn't where I'm objectively the best at, so I'll refrain from being too pretentious. I just thought that that was way to short to be a mile, or over.

Yeah I always loved the idea from the comics that Hulk just wanted to be left alone to avoid the constant destruction, damage and death brought about by his encounters with the military, which could result as much from his subsequent anger as from their agitating, provoking and ultimately attacking him, whether to capture, study or exterminate him. I liked how this movie conveyed his sense of deep sadness at the existence he is often forced to suffer, being hated and hunted as he longs for peace, quiet and ultimately, isolation from the world.

He had all the rage and an actual, confirmed strength boost unlike 2012 Hulk or Ragnarok Hulk, he came across stronger than 2008's Hulk who was extraordinarily weak compared to them and, in my opinion, despite what people said at the time, this Hulk's CGI is far superior to 2008's Hulk, which looks very fake, sickly green and is just ugly to look at.

I'm pretty sure the color saturation on hulk is a stylistic choice. It's supposed to give the impression that he's almost glowing because of the exposure to gamma radiation. I used to think it looked weird but tbh it has really grown on me and I think it fits well with the rest of the movie.

This scene really gets the physics right. I like how Hulk kicks his leg out when he lifts the turret up over his head, it's something a wrestler or judo practitioner would do before throwing someone. Also, when he beats the other tank with the turret, you can really feel the impact. IDK why other movies have failed to replicate this.

A lot of CG characters will lift immense objects over their heads at arm’s length without appearing or strain or correct for momentum, and it has the effect of making it look fake, regardless of their supposed super human strength

Except for the twirling the tank around and throwing it, even if he is 'strong enough' to do so. The tank outweighs him by at least 50x, so there would be no way he could lift the tank by it's gun. If he tried, either he'd go flying up in the air, the turret would snap or both - either way there'd be no leverage to accomplish the spin-and-throw.

When I watched this back in the days, I was really impressed by the part where hulk got stucked trying to lift the tank turret from the tank, because he was so angry and engrossed that he forgotten about the gun getting stucked in between his legs. It's the small elements like this that brings more realism into the movie despite being produced at an era where cgi wasn't that advanced.. Till this day, I'm still mesmerized by this part of acting and animation even though it's something subtle.. Just this entire scene itself has already captured the pure rage of hulk, and I'm sure it's something that even little kids can relate really well.
