Topology Optimization with Altair Inspire

Please make a video about exporting optimized geometry to CAD software like Solidworks. It's not clear, how we can save the geometry as STEP model and use it further as an optimized part in Solidworks assemblage.

Thanks for the video. What is the difference between topological optimization in Inspire and topological optimization in other software of the hyperworks platform (for example hypermesh) ?? It seems that in Altair you cannot intervene on the mesh (you can only set 'faster' and 'more accuracy' in the options

Hi Antonio, first of all, Inspire uses the same solver as you would use within the Hyperworks Suite which is Optistruct. Where Inspire simplifies the process of creating the simulation model, you have full control with Hypermesh as a preprocessor. A few advanced things are only available with this solution targeted at the stress engineer audience. Inspire is more targeted at the CAD engineer audience - simpler but also less advanced in what it can model. Now the good news is you can switch from Inspire to Hypermesh anytime as a .fem file is being exported into your user dir when you are launcing an optimization or analysis run - this you can import in hypermesh - change it and run it with optistruct if you want. For better control on the individual parameters like mesh quality and so on, I would suggest you chekout the Hyperworks 2021 Suite - it is optically not that different from Ìnspire (you feel home pretty fast) but can do so much more. @@antoniovolpe1598 Hi Antonio, for Inspire it should be a simple open / save. For Hypermesh it is a FE-File - so in the old layout you would go File - Import - Solver Deck and choose stl, export similar. Hope this helps :) If you have further questions please let me know.
