Topsail Island Kayak Town

You landed a little too far north. Swansboro is the ideal paddle destination in NC.

Honestly I hit beaches (well, really towns) when the present themselves. So you never know where I’ll be next!

@@AdventureOtaku I read good books and listen to smooth jazz on Pandora. Would love to see and meet you. We have two public landings here. One is under the bridge and crowded in the summer, but free parking. Lots of boats here. The other is at the East end right at the Shallote River inlet. Plenty of current but no breakers. Some free parking but not used very much. Ideal for what you are looking for. There is an excellent surf launch under the West water tank at the end of Beaufort street with free parking. Summer is busy there but right now people for the most part are gone. Since it is a South facing beach all you have to worry about is the SW wind, which is prevailing in the summer, makes launching almost a two man job. Good seafood here. I can provide locations, but most are within the city limits. No lifeguards anywhere on the beach.

PS no known camping on the island. RV park at east end of the island.

North Topsail USED to be a great place, but the millions of "NO PARKING" signs have made it a real downer 👎! Everything is now pay-to-park due to the local government. Oh and get this, the locals don't have to pay! All your parking money is going to re-develop the sand dunes in front of THEIR houses, but they don't pay.

Yeah, doesn’t surprise me. After I made this video I spent some time (it is actually the paddling in currents video) further south on topsail island and really enjoyed that area more.
