Lovely to see and remember Michael Sundin who died way too soon in 1989 aged just 28.

This is from a live edition of Blue Peter aired at 5pm on Thursday 4th October 1984. It followed an edition of John Craven's Newsround, and was itself followed by an episode of Henry' Cat entitled The Explorer, then by a repeat of Series 7 Episode 5 of Grange Hill (featuring the last appearance of Miss 'Sexy Lexy' Lexington). This edition of Blue Peter featured a preview of the cartoon Family Ness, the film Topsham High Tide, The Story of Dolly Shepherd (as told by Janet, written by Dorothy Smith and illustrated by Bob Broomfield), and interview with Mike Milburn and Nick Osward, and and AM record in the garden featuring a piece about Rags the Blue Peter Pony, and then a piece in which new boy Michael was shown around the garden. The Topsham film was shot on 25th and 26th September 1984, less than a fortnight after Michael had been announced as the new presenter, and was his first film as a presenter, having already been seen as a guest in a film shot behind the scenes of 'Return To Oz', which had been shot on 20th June 1984 but not shown until 13th September 1984, when it was used to introduce Michael, who was announced as the new presenter immediately after it aired.
